He makes the whole body grow and build itself up in love. Under the control of Christ, each part of the body does its work. It supports the other parts. In that way, the body is joined and held together.

今有信、有望、有愛、此三者皆存、其中至大者、愛也、爾當求愛、且慕神之恩賜、更慕為先知講道、

願其心受慰、以愛而聯合、廣得智慧、能知父天主及基督之奧妙、

至於兄弟相愛、無庸我儕書以示爾、蓋爾已為天主所教、當彼此相愛、爾向瑪其頓徧地之諸兄弟、果如此行、我儕勸爾曹益加勉之、

以成全聖徒、為供教會之役、為建基督之身、

我祈禱、欲爾仁愛與諸知識智慧、日以加多、

我在暗中受造、在冥冥被聯絡、其時我之形體、未嘗隱於主、我在母胎、尚未成形、主目已洞鑒我、所定之年日、尚未有其一、已皆註於主之册、所定之年日尚未有其一已皆註於主之册或作四肢百體日日漸長尚未有其一斯時已皆註於主之册

亦自創世之先、因基督選我儕、使我儕以愛在其前為聖潔無玷者、

又願主增益爾之愛、致爾彼此相愛、且愛及眾人、如我儕之愛爾、

主昔造我身、如乳之斟、如酪之結、以皮肉衣我、以筋骨衛我、

當以愛心言真實、凡事日漸增長、及於為元首者、即基督也、

誡命之大旨、愛是也、由清心善意及無偽之信所生、

使基督因信而居爾心、使爾於仁愛、根深基固、

是以我儕謝天主不已、因爾聞我儕所傳天主之道、爾受之、非視之如世人之道、乃視之為天主之道、是誠天主之道、力行於爾諸信者中、

愛乃寛忍慈悲、愛不嫉妒、愛不矜誇、不驕傲、不妄為、不圖己利、不遽怒、不念惡、不喜非義、乃喜真理、凡事包容、凡事存信、凡事冀望、凡事忍耐、愛永不隕、但先知講道之能將廢、言方言之能將止、知識亦將廢、我知識未全、先知講道未全、

天主賜我恩寵、循其大力而感我、使我得為此福音之役、

譬諸身乃一、而有多肢體、一身之肢體雖多、究為一身、基督亦如是、我眾無論猶太人、希拉人、為奴者、自由者、皆由一神受洗禮、以歸一身、皆飲於一神、身不止一肢體、乃多肢體、設足云、我非手、故不屬於身、豈果不屬於身乎、設耳云、我非目、故不屬於身、豈不屬於身乎、若身盡目、其何以聽、身盡耳、其何以臭、惟天主以諸肢體、各置於身、皆隨其意、若皆為一肢體、則身何在、今肢體雖多、而身則一、目不可謂手云、我不需爾、首不可謂足云、我不需爾、不但如此、且身之諸肢體、所視為弱者、其用更要、身之諸肢體、我所視為賤者、我待之更尊、且我身之醜者、愈得美飾、蓋我身之美者、原不需飾、天主調和人身、更以尊榮加於不尊之肢體、使身無爭、而諸肢體互為顧念、倘一肢體受苦、諸肢體同苦、一肢體得榮、諸肢體同樂、爾曹乃基督之身、而各為一肢體、天主立人於教會、一使徒、二先知、三教師、有行異能者、有得醫病之能者、與佐事者、治理者、言方言者、

聖神所結之果、即仁愛、喜樂、和平、忍耐、慈悲、良善、忠信、

在吾父天主前、恆念爾曹、以信而行、以愛而勞者、因望我主耶穌基督而忍耐、

爾既賴聖神、而潔己心、致能順真理、以愛兄弟無偽、則當由清潔之心、彼此切愛、

兄弟乎、爾曹蒙召以得自由、然勿以爾之自由、為縱欲之機、惟以愛互相服事、蓋全律法、一言以蔽之、曰、愛人如己、

論及祭偶像之物、我儕知我眾皆有知識、但知識使人自大、惟愛建德、

兄弟乎、我儕當為爾恆感謝天主、此理所宜也、因爾之信愈增、彼此相愛亦愈甚、

信基督耶穌、受割禮不受割禮皆無益、惟使人行仁愛之信德有益、
