to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up

He gave all these people so that they might prepare God’s people to serve. Then the body of Christ will be built up.

to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,

Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

Now you are Christ’s body, and individually parts of it.

from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

The one who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but the one who prophesies edifies the church.Now I wish that you all spoke in tongues, but rather that you would prophesy; and greater is the one who prophesies than the one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edification.

And concerning you, my brothers and sisters, I myself also am convinced that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able also to admonish one another.

What is the outcome then, brothers and sisters? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. All things are to be done for edification.

but I have prayed for you, that your faith will not fail; and you, when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

So you too, since you are eager to possess spiritual gifts, strive to excel for the edification of the church.

Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,

Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,

strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying,“ It is through many tribulations that we must enter the kingdom of God.”When they had appointed elders for them in every church, having prayed with fasting, they entrusted them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

giving no reason for taking offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited,

Obey your leaders and submit to them— for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account— so that they may do this with joy, not groaning; for this would be unhelpful for you.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service,

Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing.But we ask you, brothers and sisters, to recognize those who diligently labor among you and are in leadership over you in the Lord, and give you instruction,and that you regard them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another.We urge you, brothers and sisters, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.

which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

But as for you, use self restraint in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.

Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart,

Not that I have already grasped it all or have already become perfect, but I press on if I may also take hold of that for which I was even taken hold of by Christ Jesus.Brothers and sisters, I do not regard myself as having taken hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.Therefore, all who are mature, let’s have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that to you as well;however, let’s keep living by that same standard to which we have attained.Brothers and sisters, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us.For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even as I weep, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ,

But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

Let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for edification according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear.

This is the way any person is to regard us: as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy.

All this time you have been thinking that we are defending ourselves to you. Actually, it is in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ; and all for building you up, beloved.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am supplementing what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions in behalf of His body, which is the church.

Tell Archippus,“ See to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, so that you may fulfill it.”

We proclaim Him, admonishing every person and teaching every person with all wisdom, so that we may present every person complete in Christ.

Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification.

For he was counted among us and received his share in this ministry.”

to occupy this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.”

Now when they had finished breakfast, Jesus* said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He* said to Him,“ Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He* said to him,“ Tend My lambs.”He* said to him again, a second time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He* said to Him,“ Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He* said to him,“ Shepherd My sheep.”He* said to him the third time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was hurt because He said to him the third time,“ Do you love Me?” And he said to Him,“ Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus* said to him,“ Tend My sheep.

For we rejoice when we ourselves are weak, but you are strong; this we also pray for, that you become mature.

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unproductive.

Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy in the faith,so that your pride in Christ Jesus may be abundant because of me by my coming to you again.

how will the ministry of the Spirit fail to be even more with glory?

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you also were called in one hope of your calling;

But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of God’s grace.

Only Luke is with me. Take along Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for service.

So the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace, as it was being built up; and as it continued in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it kept increasing.

Then when he arrived and witnessed the grace of God, he rejoiced and began to encourage them all with resolute heart to remain true to the Lord;
