Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.

Now to him who is able to establish you in accordance with my gospel, the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past,but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith—

“ Men of Galilee,” they said,“ why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

“ Let’s not tear it,” they said to one another.“ Let’s decide by lot who will get it.” This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled that said,“ They divided my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment.” So this is what the soldiers did.

But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Messiah would suffer.

Now the main point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,

Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

He said to them,“ This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”

Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.

These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled:“ Not one of his bones will be broken,”

and to know this love that surpasses knowledge— that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said,“ I am thirsty.”

As he says in Hosea:“ I will call them‘ my people’ who are not my people; and I will call her‘ my loved one’ who is not my loved one,”and,“ In the very place where it was said to them,‘ You are not my people,’ there they will be called‘ children of the living God.’”Isaiah cries out concerning Israel:“ Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved.For the Lord will carry out his sentence on earth with speed and finality.”It is just as Isaiah said previously:“ Unless the Lord Almighty had left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah.”What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith;
