For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles—

I, Paul, am a prisoner because of Christ Jesus. I am in prison because of my work among you who are Gentiles.

For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles—

For this reason, I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles—

For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles—

For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus in behalf of you Gentiles,—

For this reason, I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles—

For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles–

For this cause I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles,

Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.

I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for his body, the church.

I am in chains now, still preaching this message as God’s ambassador. So pray that I will keep on speaking boldly for him, as I should.

But because of our love, I prefer simply to ask you. Consider this as a request from me— Paul, an old man and now also a prisoner for the sake of Christ Jesus.

So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News.

For everyone here, including the whole palace guard, knows that I am in chains because of Christ.And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God’s message without fear.It’s true that some are preaching out of jealousy and rivalry. But others preach about Christ with pure motives.They preach because they love me, for they know I have been appointed to defend the Good News.

So it is right that I should feel as I do about all of you, for you have a special place in my heart. You share with me the special favor of God, both in my imprisonment and in defending and confirming the truth of the Good News.

This letter is from Paul, a prisoner for preaching the Good News about Christ Jesus, and from our brother Timothy. I am writing to Philemon, our beloved co worker,

“ But before all this occurs, there will be a time of great persecution. You will be dragged into synagogues and prisons, and you will stand trial before kings and governors because you are my followers.

So the officer did, explaining,“ Paul, the prisoner, called me over and asked me to bring this young man to you because he has something to tell you.”

Three days after Paul’s arrival, he called together the local Jewish leaders. He said to them,“ Brothers, I was arrested in Jerusalem and handed over to the Roman government, even though I had done nothing against our people or the customs of our ancestors.The Romans tried me and wanted to release me, because they found no cause for the death sentence.But when the Jewish leaders protested the decision, I felt it necessary to appeal to Caesar, even though I had no desire to press charges against my own people.I asked you to come here today so we could get acquainted and so I could explain to you that I am bound with this chain because I believe that the hope of Israel— the Messiah— has already come.”

Paul replied,“ Whether quickly or not, I pray to God that both you and everyone here in this audience might become the same as I am, except for these chains.”

Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, sends you his greetings.

For some of the Jews killed the prophets, and some even killed the Lord Jesus. Now they have persecuted us, too. They fail to please God and work against all humanityas they try to keep us from preaching the Good News of salvation to the Gentiles. By doing this, they continue to pile up their sins. But the anger of God has caught up with them at last.

Here is my greeting in my own handwriting— Paul. Remember my chains. May God’s grace be with you.

May the Lord show special kindness to Onesiphorus and all his family because he often visited and encouraged me. He was never ashamed of me because I was in chains.

Now I, Paul, appeal to you with the gentleness and kindness of Christ— though I realize you think I am timid in person and bold only when I write from far away.

Are they servants of Christ? I know I sound like a madman, but I have served him far more! I have worked harder, been put in prison more often, been whipped times without number, and faced death again and again.

And because I preach this Good News, I am suffering and have been chained like a criminal. But the word of God cannot be chained.So I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen.

Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The devil will throw some of you into prison to test you. You will suffer for ten days. But if you remain faithful even when facing death, I will give you the crown of life.

Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains.

Then the commander arrested him and ordered him bound with two chains. He asked the crowd who he was and what he had done.

So please don’t lose heart because of my trials here. I am suffering for you, so you should feel honored.

Dear brothers and sisters, if I were still preaching that you must be circumcised— as some say I do— why am I still being persecuted? If I were no longer preaching salvation through the cross of Christ, no one would be offended.

Listen! I, Paul, tell you this: If you are counting on circumcision to make you right with God, then Christ will be of no benefit to you.
