難道你要為死人行奇妙的事嗎？難道陰魂會起來稱謝你嗎？細拉難道有人會在墳墓裡述說你的慈愛，在地獄裡述說你的信實嗎？難道你的奇妙之事要顯明在黑暗中，你的公義要顯明在被遺忘之地嗎？

先前曾有的，無人記念；以後要來的，其後的人也不記念。

因為智慧人與愚昧人一樣，不會被永遠記念；在將要來的日子，一切都會被忘掉。為什麼智慧人像愚昧人一樣會死亡呢？

願這些罪一直在耶和華面前，願耶和華把他們的名號從地上剪除；

此後我看到惡人被埋葬，他們曾在聖地往來，但還是在出入過的城中被人遺忘。這也是虛空！

即使亞伯拉罕不認識我們，以色列不承認我們，你還是我們的父。耶和華啊，你是我們的父！自古以來，你的名字就是「我們的救贖主」。

就如人人註定都有一死，而且死後有審判，

前往哀悼之家好過前往宴樂之家，因為死亡是所有人的終局，活著的人必將這事放在心上。
