萬民所遭、初無或異、義不義、潔不潔、祭不祭、善不善、妄誓不妄誓者、億兆亦同此賦畀。

眾人所遇之事、皆同然無異、義人、惡人、善人、潔者、不潔者、獻祭者、不獻祭者、行善者、作惡者、發誓者、忌發誓者、所遇惟一、

All share a common destiny— the righteous and the wicked, the good and the bad, the clean and the unclean, those who offer sacrifices and those who do not. As it is with the good, so with the sinful; as it is with those who take oaths, so with those who are afraid to take them.

Everyone will die someday. Death comes to godly and sinful people alike. It comes to good and bad people alike. It comes to“ clean” and“ unclean” people alike. Those who offer sacrifices and those who don’t offer them also die. A good person dies, and so does a sinner. Those who make promises die. So do those who are afraid to make them.

It is the same for all, since the same event happens to the righteous and the wicked, to the good and the evil, to the clean and the unclean, to him who sacrifices and him who does not sacrifice. As the good one is, so is the sinner, and he who swears is as he who shuns an oath.

The same destiny ultimately awaits everyone, whether righteous or wicked, good or bad, ceremonially clean or unclean, religious or irreligious. Good people receive the same treatment as sinners, and people who make promises to God are treated like people who don’t.

那時你們必歸回，將善人和惡人，事奉神的和不事奉神的，分別出來。」

智慧人的眼目光明，愚昧人在黑暗裏行。我卻看明有一件事，這兩等人都必遇見。我就心裏說：「愚昧人所遇見的，我也必遇見，我為何更有智慧呢？」我心裏說，這也是虛空。智慧人和愚昧人一樣，永遠無人記念，因為日後都被忘記；可歎智慧人死亡，與愚昧人無異。

善惡無分，都是一樣；所以我說，完全人和惡人，他都滅絕。

萬軍之耶和華說：「我必臨近你們，施行審判。我必速速作見證，警戒行邪術的、犯姦淫的、起假誓的、虧負人之工價的、欺壓寡婦孤兒的、屈枉寄居的，和不敬畏我的。」

我見惡人和狂傲人享平安就心懷不平。

二人對她說：「你要這樣行。不然，你叫我們所起的誓就與我們無干了。我們來到這地的時候，你要把這條朱紅線繩繫在縋我們下去的窗戶上，並要使你的父母、弟兄，和你父的全家都聚集在你家中。凡出了你家門往街上去的，他的罪必歸到自己的頭上，與我們無干了。凡在你家裏的，若有人下手害他，流他血的罪就歸到我們的頭上。你若洩漏我們這件事，你叫我們所起的誓就與我們無干了。」

你持守這個為美，那個也不要鬆手；因為敬畏神的人，必從這兩樣出來。

罪人雖然作惡百次，倒享長久的年日；然而我準知道，敬畏神的，就是在他面前敬畏的人，終久必得福樂。惡人卻不得福樂，也不得長久的年日；這年日好像影兒，因他不敬畏神。世上有一件虛空的事，就是義人所遭遇的，反照惡人所行的；又有惡人所遭遇的，反照義人所行的。我說，這也是虛空。

神喜悅誰，就給誰智慧、知識，和喜樂；惟有罪人，神使他勞苦，叫他將所收聚的、所堆積的歸給神所喜悅的人。這也是虛空，也是捕風。

往遭喪的家去，強如往宴樂的家去；因為死是眾人的結局，活人也必將這事放在心上。

他對我說：「這是發出行在遍地上的咒詛。凡偷竊的必按卷上這面的話除滅；凡起假誓的必按卷上那面的話除滅。萬軍之耶和華說：我必使這書卷出去，進入偷竊人的家和指我名起假誓人的家，必常在他家裏，連房屋帶木石都毀滅了。」

惡人為何存活，享大壽數，勢力強盛呢？他們眼見兒孫，和他們一同堅立。他們的家宅平安無懼；神的杖也不加在他們身上。他們的公牛孳生而不斷絕；母牛下犢而不掉胎。他們打發小孩子出去，多如羊羣；他們的兒女踴躍跳舞。他們隨着琴鼓歌唱，又因簫聲歡喜。他們度日諸事亨通，轉眼下入陰間。他們對神說：離開我們吧！我們不願曉得你的道。全能者是誰，我們何必事奉他呢？求告他有甚麼益處呢？看哪，他們亨通不在乎自己；惡人所謀定的離我好遠。惡人的燈何嘗熄滅？患難何嘗臨到他們呢？神何嘗發怒，向他們分散災禍呢？他們何嘗像風前的碎稭，如暴風颳去的糠粃呢？你們說：神為惡人的兒女積蓄罪孽；我說：不如本人受報，好使他親自知道。願他親眼看見自己敗亡，親自飲全能者的忿怒。他的歲月既盡，他還顧他本家嗎？神既審判那在高位的，誰能將知識教訓他呢？有人至死身體強壯，盡得平靖安逸；他的奶桶充滿，他的骨髓滋潤。有人至死心中痛苦，終身未嘗福樂的滋味；他們一樣躺臥在塵土中，都被蟲子遮蓋。我知道你們的意思，並誣害我的計謀。你們說：霸者的房屋在哪裏？惡人住過的帳棚在哪裏？你們豈沒有詢問過路的人嗎？不知道他們所引的證據嗎？就是惡人在禍患的日子得存留，在發怒的日子得逃脫。他所行的，有誰當面給他說明？他所做的，有誰報應他呢？然而他要被擡到塋地；並有人看守墳墓。他要以谷中的土塊為甘甜；在他以先去的無數，在他以後去的更多。你們對答的話中既都錯謬，怎麼徒然安慰我呢？

他輕看誓言，背棄盟約，已經投降，卻又做這一切的事，他必不能逃脫。」所以主耶和華如此說：「我指着我的永生起誓，他既輕看指我所起的誓，背棄指我所立的約，我必要使這罪歸在他頭上。

我要叫你指着耶和華－天地的主起誓，不要為我兒子娶這迦南地中的女子為妻。

那人雖然活千年，再活千年，卻不享福，眾人豈不都歸一個地方去嗎？

如今我們稱狂傲的人為有福，並且行惡的人得建立；他們雖然試探神，卻得脫離災難。』」

倘若女子不肯跟你來，我使你起的誓就與你無干了，只是不可帶我的兒子回那裏去。」僕人就把手放在他主人亞伯拉罕的大腿底下，為這事向他起誓。

他們進了樹林，見有蜜流下來，卻沒有人敢用手取蜜入口，因為他們怕那誓言。
