All share a common destiny— the righteous and the wicked, the good and the bad, the clean and the unclean, those who offer sacrifices and those who do not. As it is with the good, so with the sinful; as it is with those who take oaths, so with those who are afraid to take them.

Everyone will die someday. Death comes to godly and sinful people alike. It comes to good and bad people alike. It comes to“ clean” and“ unclean” people alike. Those who offer sacrifices and those who don’t offer them also die. A good person dies, and so does a sinner. Those who make promises die. So do those who are afraid to make them.

It is the same for all, since the same event happens to the righteous and the wicked, to the good and the evil, to the clean and the unclean, to him who sacrifices and him who does not sacrifice. As the good one is, so is the sinner, and he who swears is as he who shuns an oath.

The same destiny ultimately awaits everyone, whether righteous or wicked, good or bad, ceremonially clean or unclean, religious or irreligious. Good people receive the same treatment as sinners, and people who make promises to God are treated like people who don’t.

那时你们必归回，将善人和恶人，侍奉神的和不侍奉神的，分别出来。”

智慧人的眼目光明，愚昧人在黑暗里行。我却看明有一件事，这两等人都必遇见。我就心里说：“愚昧人所遇见的，我也必遇见，我为何更有智慧呢？”我心里说，这也是虚空。智慧人和愚昧人一样，永远无人记念，因为日后都被忘记；可叹智慧人死亡，与愚昧人无异。

善恶无分，都是一样；所以我说，完全人和恶人，他都灭绝。

万军之耶和华说：“我必临近你们，施行审判。我必速速作见证，警戒行邪术的、犯奸淫的、起假誓的、亏负人之工价的、欺压寡妇孤儿的、屈枉寄居的，和不敬畏我的。”

我见恶人和狂傲人享平安就心怀不平。

二人对她说：“你要这样行。不然，你叫我们所起的誓就与我们无干了。我们来到这地的时候，你要把这条朱红线绳系在缒我们下去的窗户上，并要使你的父母、弟兄，和你父的全家都聚集在你家中。凡出了你家门往街上去的，他的罪必归到自己的头上，与我们无干了。凡在你家里的，若有人下手害他，流他血的罪就归到我们的头上。你若泄漏我们这件事，你叫我们所起的誓就与我们无干了。”

你持守这个为美，那个也不要松手；因为敬畏神的人，必从这两样出来。

罪人虽然作恶百次，倒享长久的年日；然而我准知道，敬畏神的，就是在他面前敬畏的人，终久必得福乐。恶人却不得福乐，也不得长久的年日；这年日好像影儿，因他不敬畏神。世上有一件虚空的事，就是义人所遭遇的，反照恶人所行的；又有恶人所遭遇的，反照义人所行的。我说，这也是虚空。

神喜悦谁，就给谁智慧、知识，和喜乐；惟有罪人，神使他劳苦，叫他将所收聚的、所堆积的归给神所喜悦的人。这也是虚空，也是捕风。

往遭丧的家去，强如往宴乐的家去；因为死是众人的结局，活人也必将这事放在心上。

他对我说：“这是发出行在遍地上的咒诅。凡偷窃的必按卷上这面的话除灭；凡起假誓的必按卷上那面的话除灭。万军之耶和华说：我必使这书卷出去，进入偷窃人的家和指我名起假誓人的家，必常在他家里，连房屋带木石都毁灭了。”

恶人为何存活，享大寿数，势力强盛呢？他们眼见儿孙，和他们一同坚立。他们的家宅平安无惧；神的杖也不加在他们身上。他们的公牛孳生而不断绝；母牛下犊而不掉胎。他们打发小孩子出去，多如羊群；他们的儿女踊跃跳舞。他们随着琴鼓歌唱，又因箫声欢喜。他们度日诸事亨通，转眼下入阴间。他们对神说：‘离开我们吧！我们不愿晓得你的道。全能者是谁，我们何必侍奉他呢？’求告他有什么益处呢？看哪，他们亨通不在乎自己；恶人所谋定的离我好远。“恶人的灯何尝熄灭？患难何尝临到他们呢？神何尝发怒，向他们分散灾祸呢？他们何尝像风前的碎秸，如暴风刮去的糠秕呢？你们说：神为恶人的儿女积蓄罪孽；我说：不如本人受报，好使他亲自知道。愿他亲眼看见自己败亡，亲自饮全能者的忿怒。他的岁月既尽，他还顾他本家吗？神既审判那在高位的，谁能将知识教训他呢？有人至死身体强壮，尽得平靖安逸；他的奶桶充满，他的骨髓滋润。有人至死心中痛苦，终身未尝福乐的滋味；他们一样躺卧在尘土中，都被虫子遮盖。“我知道你们的意思，并诬害我的计谋。你们说：‘霸者的房屋在哪里？恶人住过的帐棚在哪里？’你们岂没有询问过路的人吗？不知道他们所引的证据吗？就是恶人在祸患的日子得存留，在发怒的日子得逃脱。“他所行的，有谁当面给他说明？他所做的，有谁报应他呢？然而他要被抬到茔地；并有人看守坟墓。他要以谷中的土块为甘甜；在他以先去的无数，在他以后去的更多。你们对答的话中既都错谬，怎么徒然安慰我呢？”

他轻看誓言，背弃盟约，已经投降，却又做这一切的事，他必不能逃脱。”所以主耶和华如此说：“我指着我的永生起誓，他既轻看指我所起的誓，背弃指我所立的约，我必要使这罪归在他头上。

我要叫你指着耶和华天地的主起誓，不要为我儿子娶这迦南地中的女子为妻。

那人虽然活千年，再活千年，却不享福，众人岂不都归一个地方去吗？

如今我们称狂傲的人为有福，并且行恶的人得建立；他们虽然试探神，却得脱离灾难。’”

倘若女子不肯跟你来，我使你起的誓就与你无干了，只是不可带我的儿子回那里去。”仆人就把手放在他主人亚伯拉罕的大腿底下，为这事向他起誓。

他们进了树林，见有蜜流下来，却没有人敢用手取蜜入口，因为他们怕那誓言。
