每個人的命運都是一樣的：義人與惡人，好人與壞人，潔淨的與不潔淨的，獻祭的與不獻祭的都有一樣的命運。好人怎樣，罪人也怎樣；起誓的怎樣，怕起誓的也怎樣。

凡临到众人的事都是一样：义人和恶人都遭遇一样的事；好人，洁净人和不洁净人，献祭的与不献祭的，也是一样。好人如何，罪人也如何；起誓的如何，怕起誓的也如何。

萬民所遭、初無或異、義不義、潔不潔、祭不祭、善不善、妄誓不妄誓者、億兆亦同此賦畀。

眾人所遇之事、皆同然無異、義人、惡人、善人、潔者、不潔者、獻祭者、不獻祭者、行善者、作惡者、發誓者、忌發誓者、所遇惟一、

All share a common destiny— the righteous and the wicked, the good and the bad, the clean and the unclean, those who offer sacrifices and those who do not. As it is with the good, so with the sinful; as it is with those who take oaths, so with those who are afraid to take them.

Everyone will die someday. Death comes to godly and sinful people alike. It comes to good and bad people alike. It comes to“ clean” and“ unclean” people alike. Those who offer sacrifices and those who don’t offer them also die. A good person dies, and so does a sinner. Those who make promises die. So do those who are afraid to make them.

It is the same for all, since the same event happens to the righteous and the wicked, to the good and the evil, to the clean and the unclean, to him who sacrifices and him who does not sacrifice. As the good one is, so is the sinner, and he who swears is as he who shuns an oath.

The same destiny ultimately awaits everyone, whether righteous or wicked, good or bad, ceremonially clean or unclean, religious or irreligious. Good people receive the same treatment as sinners, and people who make promises to God are treated like people who don’t.

那時，你們必再次看出義人與惡人、服事神的人與不服事神的人的區別。」

智慧人看得見他的道路，愚昧人卻在黑暗中行走。不過我也明白，同樣的命運會臨到他們這兩種人。於是我心裡說：「既然愚昧人的命運也照樣會臨到我，那麼我為什麼要更有智慧呢？」我心裡就說：「這也是虛空！」因為智慧人與愚昧人一樣，不會被永遠記念；在將要來的日子，一切都會被忘掉。為什麼智慧人像愚昧人一樣會死亡呢？

萬軍之耶和華說：「我必臨近你們施行審判；我要快快作證控告那些行巫術的、通姦的、起假誓的、在工酬上欺壓雇工的、欺壓孤兒寡婦的、屈枉寄居者的，以及不敬畏我的！

因為我看到惡人享平安時，就嫉妒那些狂傲的人。

你抓住這個是好的，也不要放手那個；因為敬畏神的人，能兼顧這兩者。

即使罪人作惡百次仍享長壽，然而我知道，敬畏神的人日子美好，因他們在神面前心存敬畏；惡人卻沒有好日子，他的日子像影子那樣，不能長久，因他在神面前沒有敬畏之心。有一件虛空的事發生在地上：臨到義人的是照著惡人所行的，臨到惡人的是照著義人所行的。我說：「這也是虛空！」

原來神把智慧、知識和喜樂賜給他所喜悅的人；至於罪人，神加給他們擔子，讓他們去收取、積聚，好給神所喜悅的人。這也是虛空，也是捕風！

前往哀悼之家好過前往宴樂之家，因為死亡是所有人的終局，活著的人必將這事放在心上。

他對我說：「這是向全地面發出的詛咒。凡偷竊的都必照著書卷這一面上的話被清除，凡起假誓的都必照著書卷另一面上的話被清除。萬軍之耶和華宣告：『我要使這書卷出去，進入竊賊的家和奉我名起假誓之人的家；它必留在他們的家裡，把他們的家連同其中的木頭和石頭都滅盡。』」

我要你指著耶和華——天和地的神起誓，不可從我所住的迦南，為我的兒子娶他們的女兒為妻；

就算那人活了兩個千年，卻沒有享受好處，又怎樣呢？難道所有人不都同歸一處嗎？

所以我們就稱傲慢的人有福；作惡的人不僅得以興旺，他們試驗神也得以逃脫。』」

如果那女子不願意隨著你來，我讓你起的這誓就與你無關了，只是你不可把我的兒子帶回那裡。」於是那僕人就把手放在他主人亞伯拉罕的大腿底下，為這事向他起誓。

當軍兵進入森林，看哪，有蜂蜜流淌，但沒有人用手取蜜放入嘴裡，因為他們害怕所起的誓。
