我就說，智慧勝過勇力；然而那貧窮人的智慧被人藐視，他的話也無人聽從。

我就说：“智慧胜过武力”，但那个贫寒人的智慧被人轻视，他的话语也没有人再听从。

我就說，智慧勝過勇力；然而那貧窮人的智慧被人藐視，他的話也無人聽從。

我認為智慧勝過武力，然而那位窮人的智慧卻被輕視，他所說的話也無人理會。

我說，雖即那貧窮漢的智慧儘管被藐視，而他的話儘管無人聽從，然智慧終是勝過勇力的。

我就說：「智慧勝過武力」，但那個貧寒人的智慧被人輕視，他的話語也沒有人再聽從。

我則曰、智愈於力、然貧者之智、為人蔑視、言不見聽、

我竊思之、智愈於力、貧者之智、為人藐忽、不從其言。

我自言曰、智慧雖愈於勇力、貧者之智慧仍被人藐忽、不聽其言、

So I said,“ Wisdom is better than strength.” But the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are no longer heeded.

So I said,“ It’s better to be wise than to be powerful.” But people look down on the poor man’s wisdom. No one pays any attention to what he says.

But I say that wisdom is better than might, though the poor man’s wisdom is despised and his words are not heard.

So even though wisdom is better than strength, those who are wise will be despised if they are poor. What they say will not be appreciated for long.

And I said,“ Wisdom is better than strength, but the wisdom of the poor man is despised, and his words are not heeded.”

So I said,“ Wisdom is better than strength.” But the wisdom of the poor man is despised, and his words are ignored.

Then I said:“ Wisdom is better than strength. Nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, And his words are not heard.

Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.

And I said,“ Wisdom is better than strength, but the wisdom of the poor man is despised, and his words are not heeded.”

Then said I, Wisdom[ is] better than strength: nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom[ is] despised, and his words are not heard.

So I concluded that wisdom is better than might, but a poor man’s wisdom is despised; no one ever listens to his advice.

Then I said,“ Wisdom is better than strength.” Nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.

智慧使有智慧的人比城中十個官長更有能力。

智慧人大有能力；有知識的人力上加力。

智慧人爬上勇士的城牆，傾覆他所倚靠的堅壘。

到了安息日，他在會堂裏教訓人。眾人聽見，就甚希奇，說：「這人從哪裏有這些事呢？所賜給他的是甚麼智慧？他手所做的是何等的異能呢？這不是那木匠嗎？不是馬利亞的兒子雅各、約西、猶大、西門的長兄嗎？他妹妹們不也是在我們這裏嗎？」他們就厭棄他。

智慧勝過打仗的兵器；但一個罪人能敗壞許多善事。

富戶的財物是他的堅城；窮人的貧乏是他的敗壞。

法利賽人說：「你們也受了迷惑嗎？官長或是法利賽人豈有信他的呢？但這些不明白律法的百姓是被咒詛的！」

弟兄們哪，可見你們蒙召的，按着肉體有智慧的不多，有能力的不多，有尊貴的也不多。神卻揀選了世上愚拙的，叫有智慧的羞愧；又揀選了世上軟弱的，叫那強壯的羞愧。神也揀選了世上卑賤的，被人厭惡的，以及那無有的，為要廢掉那有的，使一切有血氣的，在神面前一個也不能自誇。

所以法利賽人第二次叫了那從前瞎眼的人來，對他說：「你該將榮耀歸給神，我們知道這人是個罪人。」他說：「他是個罪人不是，我不知道；有一件事我知道，從前我是眼瞎的，如今能看見了。」他們就問他說：「他向你做甚麼？是怎麼開了你的眼睛呢？」他回答說：「我方才告訴你們，你們不聽，為甚麼又要聽呢？莫非你們也要作他的門徒嗎？」他們就罵他說：「你是他的門徒；我們是摩西的門徒。神對摩西說話是我們知道的；只是這個人，我們不知道他從哪裏來！」那人回答說：「他開了我的眼睛，你們竟不知道他從哪裏來，這真是奇怪！我們知道神不聽罪人，惟有敬奉神、遵行他旨意的，神才聽他。從創世以來，未曾聽見有人把生來是瞎子的眼睛開了。這人若不是從神來的，甚麼也不能做。」他們回答說：「你全然生在罪孽中，還要教訓我們嗎？」於是把他趕出去了。

若有一個人帶着金戒指，穿着華美衣服，進你們的會堂去；又有一個窮人穿着骯髒衣服也進去；你們就重看那穿華美衣服的人，說：「請坐在這好位上」；又對那窮人說：「你站在那裏」，或「坐在我腳凳下邊。」這豈不是你們偏心待人，用惡意斷定人嗎？我親愛的弟兄們，請聽，神豈不是揀選了世上的貧窮人，叫他們在信上富足，並承受他所應許給那些愛他之人的國嗎？你們反倒羞辱貧窮人。那富足人豈不是欺壓你們、拉你們到公堂去嗎？
