因為人類並不知道他自己的定時：魚怎樣被捉住於致禍的網裏，鳥怎樣被捉住於機檻中，人類當禍患時、災禍忽然降到他們身上時、人也怎樣被羅住。

No one knows when trouble will come to them. Fish are caught in nets. Birds are taken in traps. And people are trapped by hard times that come when they don’t expect them.

For man does not know his time. Like fish that are taken in an evil net, and like birds that are caught in a snare, so the children of man are snared at an evil time, when it suddenly falls upon them.

People can never predict when hard times might come. Like fish in a net or birds in a trap, people are caught by sudden tragedy.

For certainly no one knows his time: like fish caught in a cruel net or like birds caught in a trap, so people are trapped in an evil time as it suddenly falls on them.

For indeed, a person does not know his time: like fish that are caught in a treacherous net and birds caught in a snare, so the sons of mankind are ensnared at an evil time when it suddenly falls on them.

For man also does not know his time: Like fish taken in a cruel net, Like birds caught in a snare, So the sons of men are snared in an evil time, When it falls suddenly upon them.

Evildoers are snared by their own sin, but the righteous shout for joy and are glad.

While people are saying,“ Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

Whoever obeys his command will come to no harm, and the wise heart will know the proper time and procedure.For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a person may be weighed down by misery.Since no one knows the future, who can tell someone else what is to come?

“ Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth.Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into.

When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, people’s hearts are filled with schemes to do wrong.

Surely you place them on slippery ground; you cast them down to ruin.How suddenly are they destroyed, completely swept away by terrors!They are like a dream when one awakes; when you arise, Lord, you will despise them as fantasies.

You have made people like the fish in the sea, like the sea creatures that have no ruler.The wicked foe pulls all of them up with hooks, he catches them in his net, he gathers them up in his dragnet; and so he rejoices and is glad.Therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to his dragnet, for by his net he lives in luxury and enjoys the choicest food.Is he to keep on emptying his net, destroying nations without mercy?

“ Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man.People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.“ It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building.But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.“ It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything.

All at once he followed her like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer stepping into a noosetill an arrow pierces his liver, like a bird darting into a snare, little knowing it will cost him his life.

Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant; he will suddenly be destroyed— without remedy.

On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot.

and said,“ If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace— but now it is hidden from your eyes.The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side.They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”

“ But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

His feet thrust him into a net; he wanders into its mesh.A trap seizes him by the heel; a snare holds him fast.A noose is hidden for him on the ground; a trap lies in his path.

this sin will become for you like a high wall, cracked and bulging, that collapses suddenly, in an instant.

But these people blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like unreasoning animals, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like animals they too will perish.

For he says,“ In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
