因為人類並不知道他自己的定時：魚怎樣被捉住於致禍的網裏，鳥怎樣被捉住於機檻中，人類當禍患時、災禍忽然降到他們身上時、人也怎樣被羅住。

Moreover, no one knows when their hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so people are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.

No one knows when trouble will come to them. Fish are caught in nets. Birds are taken in traps. And people are trapped by hard times that come when they don’t expect them.

For man does not know his time. Like fish that are taken in an evil net, and like birds that are caught in a snare, so the children of man are snared at an evil time, when it suddenly falls upon them.

People can never predict when hard times might come. Like fish in a net or birds in a trap, people are caught by sudden tragedy.

For indeed, a person does not know his time: like fish that are caught in a treacherous net and birds caught in a snare, so the sons of mankind are ensnared at an evil time when it suddenly falls on them.

An evil man is caught by sin, but the righteous one sings and rejoices.

When they say,“ Peace and security,” then sudden destruction comes on them, like labor pains come on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

The one who keeps a command will not experience anything harmful, and a wise heart knows the right time and procedure.For every activity there is a right time and procedure, even though man’s troubles are heavy on him.Yet no one knows what will happen because who can tell him what will happen?

“ Be on your guard, so that your minds are not dulled from carousing, drunkenness, and worries of life, or that day will come on you unexpectedlylike a trap. For it will come on all who live on the face of the whole earth.But be alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place and to stand before the Son of Man.”

But know this: If the homeowner had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into.

Because the sentence against a criminal act is not carried out quickly, the heart of people is filled with the desire to commit crime.

Indeed, You put them in slippery places; You make them fall into ruin.How suddenly they become a desolation! They come to an end, swept away by terrors.Like one waking from a dream, Lord, when arising, You will despise their image.

You have made mankind like the fish of the sea, like marine creatures that have no ruler.The Chaldeans pull them all up with a hook, catch them in their dragnet, and gather them in their fishing net; that is why they are glad and rejoice.That is why they sacrifice to their dragnet and burn incense to their fishing net, for by these things their portion is rich and their food plentiful.Will they therefore empty their net and continually slaughter nations without mercy?

“ Just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man:People went on eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day Noah boarded the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.It will be the same as it was in the days of Lot: People went on eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building.But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all.It will be like that on the day the Son of Man is revealed.On that day, a man on the housetop, whose belongings are in the house, must not come down to get them. Likewise the man who is in the field must not turn back.

He follows her impulsively like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer bounding toward a trapuntil an arrow pierces its liver, like a bird darting into a snare— he doesn’t know it will cost him his life.

Therefore calamity will strike him suddenly; he will be shattered instantly— beyond recovery.

He will rain burning coals and sulfur on the wicked; a scorching wind will be their portion.

saying,“ If you knew this day what would bring peace— but now it is hidden from your eyes.For the days will come on you when your enemies will build an embankment against you, surround you, and hem you in on every side.They will crush you and your children within you to the ground, and they will not leave one stone on another in you, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”

“ But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your life is demanded of you. And the things you have prepared— whose will they be?’

Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that in a case where they speak against you as those who do what is evil, they will, by observing your good works, glorify God on the day of visitation.

For his own feet lead him into a net, and he strays into its mesh.A trap catches him by the heel; a noose seizes him.A rope lies hidden for him on the ground, and a snare waits for him along the path.

this iniquity of yours will be like a spreading breach, a bulge in a high wall whose collapse will come in an instant— suddenly!

But these people, like irrational animals— creatures of instinct born to be caught and destroyed— speak blasphemies about things they don’t understand, and in their destruction they too will be destroyed,

For He says: I heard you in an acceptable time, and I helped you in the day of salvation. Look, now is the acceptable time; now is the day of salvation.

Then they may come to their senses and escape the Devil’s trap, having been captured by him to do his will.
