For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a person may be weighed down by misery.

There’s a proper time and way for people to do everything. That’s true even though a person might be suffering greatly.

For there is a time and a way for everything, although man’s trouble lies heavy on him.

For every activity there is a right time and procedure, even though a person’s troubles are heavy on him.

Because for every matter there is a time and judgment, Though the misery of man increases greatly.

“ How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes.Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you from every side.They will crush you into the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you did not recognize it when God visited you.”

Accept the way God does things, for who can straighten what he has made crooked?Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. Remember that nothing is certain in this life.

Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

But the wicked are doomed, for they will get exactly what they deserve.Childish leaders oppress my people, and women rule over them. O my people, your leaders mislead you; they send you down the wrong road.The Lord takes his place in court and presents his case against his people.The Lord comes forward to pronounce judgment on the elders and rulers of his people:“ You have ruined Israel, my vineyard. Your houses are filled with things stolen from the poor.

Young people, it’s wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do.So refuse to worry, and keep your body healthy. But remember that youth, with a whole life before you, is meaningless.Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say,“ Life is not pleasant anymore.”

At that time the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, called you to weep and mourn. He told you to shave your heads in sorrow for your sins and to wear clothes of burlap to show your remorse.But instead, you dance and play; you slaughter cattle and kill sheep. You feast on meat and drink wine. You say,“ Let’s feast and drink, for tomorrow we die!”The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has revealed this to me:“ Till the day you die, you will never be forgiven for this sin.” That is the judgment of the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

That is why the Holy Spirit says,“ Today when you hear his voice,don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested me in the wilderness.There your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw my miracles for forty years.So I was angry with them, and I said,‘ Their hearts always turn away from me. They refuse to do what I tell them.’So in my anger I took an oath:‘ They will never enter my place of rest.’”

When the master of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading,‘ Lord, open the door for us!’ But he will reply,‘ I don’t know you or where you come from.’
