saying,“ If you had known on this day, even you, the conditions for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.For the days will come upon you when your enemies will put up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side,and they will level you to the ground, and throw down your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”

Consider the work of God, For who is able to straighten what He has bent?On the day of prosperity be happy, But on the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other So that a person will not discover anything that will come after him.

He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, without the possibility that mankind will find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.

Woe to the wicked! It will go badly for him, For what he deserves will be done to him.My people! Their oppressors treat them violently, And women rule over them. My people! Those who guide you lead you astray And confuse the direction of your paths.The Lord arises to contend, And stands to judge the people.The Lord enters into judgment with the elders and leaders of His people,“ It is you who have devoured the vineyard; The goods stolen from the poor are in your houses.

Rejoice, young man, during your childhood, and let your heart be pleasant during the days of young manhood. And follow the impulses of your heart and the desires of your eyes. Yet know that God will bring you to judgment for all these things.So remove sorrow from your heart and keep pain away from your body, because childhood and the prime of life are fleeting.Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years approach when you will say,“ I have no pleasure in them”;

Therefore on that day the Lord God of armies called you to weeping, to wailing, To shaving the head, and to wearing sackcloth.Instead, there is joy and jubilation, Killing of cattle and slaughtering of sheep, Eating of meat and drinking of wine:“ Let’s eat and drink, for tomorrow we may die.”But the Lord of armies revealed Himself to me:“ Certainly this wrongdoing will not be forgiven you Until you die,” says the Lord God of armies.

Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says,“ Today if you hear His voice,Do not harden your hearts as when they provoked Me, As on the day of trial in the wilderness,Where your fathers put Me to the test, And saw My works for forty years.Therefore I was angry with this generation, And said,‘ They always go astray in their heart, And they did not know My ways’;As I swore in My anger,‘ They certainly shall not enter My rest.’ ”

Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin standing outside and knocking on the door, saying,‘ Lord, open up to us!’ and He then will answer and say to you,‘ I do not know where you are from.’
