saying,“ If you knew this day what would bring peace— but now it is hidden from your eyes.For the days will come on you when your enemies will build an embankment against you, surround you, and hem you in on every side.They will crush you and your children within you to the ground, and they will not leave one stone on another in you, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”

Consider the work of God, for who can straighten out what He has made crooked?In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity, consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that man cannot discover anything that will come after him.

He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also put eternity in their hearts, but man cannot discover the work God has done from beginning to end.

Woe to the wicked— it will go badly for them, for what they have done will be done to them.Youths oppress My people, and women rule over them. My people, your leaders mislead you; they confuse the direction of your paths.The Lord rises to argue the case and stands to judge the people.The Lord brings this charge against the elders and leaders of His people:“ You have devastated the vineyard. The plunder from the poor is in your houses.

Rejoice, young man, while you are young, and let your heart be glad in the days of your youth.
