I say,“ Keep the king’s command!” because of the oath to God.

我劝你遵守王的命令；既指神起誓，理当如此。

我劝你因上帝誓言的缘故，当遵守王的命令。

我劝你因神誓言的缘故，当遵守王的命令。

我劝你遵守王的命令，因为你曾在上帝面前这样发誓。

我劝你，因为你指着神起了誓，你就要遵守王的命令。

我劝你遵守王的命令，因为你向神起了誓；

我勸你遵守王的命令；既指神起誓，理當如此。

我勸你因上帝誓言的緣故，當遵守王的命令。

我勸你因神誓言的緣故，當遵守王的命令。

王的命令你要遵守，這是為了你曾指着上帝來起誓的緣故。

我曰、當守王命、因指上帝而誓矣、

既指上帝而誓、必守王命、勿謀不軌、勿致位而不辭、爾若是、恐干王怒、蓋發號出令、由王獨斷。

我言爾當守王命、既指天主而誓、自當如此、

Obey the king’s command, I say, because you took an oath before God.

I’m telling you to obey the king’s command. You promised to serve him. You made a promise to God.

I say: Keep the king’s command, because of God’s oath to him.

Obey the king since you vowed to God that you would.

Keep the king’s command because of your oath made before God.

I say,“ Keep the command of the king because of the oath before God.

I say,“ Keep the king’s commandment for the sake of your oath to God.

I counsel thee, Keep the king’s command, and that in regard of the oath of God.

Keep the king’s command because of your oath made before God.

I[ counsel thee] to keep the king’s commandment, and[ that] in regard of the oath of God.

Obey the king’s command, because you took an oath before God to be loyal to him.

Why then have you not kept the oath of Yahweh, and the commandment that I have instructed you with?”

Therefore subject yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether to the king, as supreme;or to governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evildoers and for praise to those who do well.For this is the will of God, that by well- doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of Yahweh’s oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.

He took some of the royal offspring, and made a covenant with him. He also brought him under an oath, and took away the mighty of the land;that the kingdom might be brought low, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping his covenant it might stand.But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Will he prosper? Will he who does such things escape? Will he break the covenant, and still escape?“‘ As I live,’ says the Lord Yahweh,‘ surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the middle of Babylon he will die.Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company won’t help him in the war, when they cast up mounds and build forts, to cut off many persons.For he has despised the oath by breaking the covenant; and behold, he had given his hand, and yet has done all these things. He won’t escape.“ Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:‘ As I live, I will surely bring on his own head my oath that he has despised and my covenant that he has broken.I will spread my net on him, and he will be taken in my snare. I will bring him to Babylon, and will enter into judgment with him there for his trespass that he has trespassed against me.

My son, fear Yahweh and the king. Don’t join those who are rebellious;

Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment.For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the authority,for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn’t bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil.Therefore you need to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.

the oath of Yahweh shall be between them both, he has not put his hand on his neighbor’s goods; and its owner shall accept it, and he shall not make restitution.

All the princes, the mighty men, and also all of the sons of king David submitted themselves to Solomon the king.

Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,
