I say,“ Keep the command of the king because of the oath before God.

我劝你遵守王的命令；既指神起誓，理当如此。

我劝你因上帝誓言的缘故，当遵守王的命令。

我劝你因神誓言的缘故，当遵守王的命令。

我劝你遵守王的命令，因为你曾在上帝面前这样发誓。

我劝你，因为你指着神起了誓，你就要遵守王的命令。

我劝你遵守王的命令，因为你向神起了誓；

我勸你遵守王的命令；既指神起誓，理當如此。

我勸你因上帝誓言的緣故，當遵守王的命令。

我勸你因神誓言的緣故，當遵守王的命令。

我勸你遵守王的命令，因為你曾在上帝面前這樣發誓。

我勸你，因為你指著神起了誓，你就要遵守王的命令。

王的命令你要遵守，這是為了你曾指着上帝來起誓的緣故。

我勸你遵守王的命令，因為你向神起了誓；

我曰、當守王命、因指上帝而誓矣、

既指上帝而誓、必守王命、勿謀不軌、勿致位而不辭、爾若是、恐干王怒、蓋發號出令、由王獨斷。

我言爾當守王命、既指天主而誓、自當如此、

Obey the king’s command, I say, because you took an oath before God.

I’m telling you to obey the king’s command. You promised to serve him. You made a promise to God.

I say: Keep the king’s command, because of God’s oath to him.

Obey the king since you vowed to God that you would.

Keep the king’s command because of your oath made before God.

I say,“ Keep the king’s commandment for the sake of your oath to God.

I counsel thee, Keep the king’s command, and that in regard of the oath of God.

Keep the king’s command because of your oath made before God.

I[ counsel thee] to keep the king’s commandment, and[ that] in regard of the oath of God.

Obey the king’s command, because you took an oath before God to be loyal to him.

I say,“ Keep the king’s command!” because of the oath to God.

Why then have you not kept the oath of the Lord, and the command which I imposed on you?”

Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority,or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right.For such is the will of God, that by doing right you silence the ignorance of foolish people.Act as free people, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bond servants of God.Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.

But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, because of the oath of the Lord which was between them, between David and Saul’s son Jonathan.

Then he took one of the royal family and made a covenant with him, putting him under oath. He also took away the mighty of the land,so that the kingdom would be humbled, not exalting itself, but keeping his covenant so that it might continue.But he revolted against him by sending his messengers to Egypt so that they might give him horses and many troops. Will he succeed? Will he who does these things escape? Can he indeed break the covenant and escape?As I live,’ declares the Lord God,‘ In the country of the king who put him on the throne, whose oath he despised and whose covenant he broke, in Babylon he shall certainly die.Pharaoh with his mighty army and great contingent will not help him in the war, when they pile up assault ramps and build siege walls to eliminate many lives.Now he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, and behold, he pledged his allegiance, yet did all these things; he shall not escape.’ ”Therefore, this is what the Lord God says:“ As I live, My oath which he despised and My covenant which he broke, I will certainly inflict on his head.And I will spread My net over him, and he will be caught in My net. Then I will bring him to Babylon and enter into judgment with him there regarding the unfaithful act which he has committed against Me.

My son, fear the Lord and the king; Do not get involved with those of high rank,

Every person is to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same;for it is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a servant of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for the sake of conscience.

an oath before the Lord shall be taken by the two of them that he has not laid a hand on his neighbor’s property; and its owner shall accept it, and he shall not be compelled to make restitution.

And all the officials, the mighty men, and also all the sons of King David pledged allegiance to King Solomon.

Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed,
