There is something else meaningless that occurs on earth: the righteous who get what the wicked deserve, and the wicked who get what the righteous deserve. This too, I say, is meaningless.

Here’s something else on this earth that doesn’t have any meaning. Sometimes godly people get what sinful people should receive. And sinful people get what godly people should receive. Here’s what I’m telling you. That doesn’t have any meaning either.

He devoureth the barren that beareth not, And doeth not good to the widow.Yet God preserveth the mighty by his power: He riseth up that hath no assurance of life.God giveth them to be in security, and they rest thereon; And his eyes are upon their ways.They are exalted; yet a little while, and they are gone; Yea, they are brought low, they are taken out of the way as all others, And are cut off as the tops of the ears of grain.And if it be not so now, who will prove me a liar, And make my speech nothing worth?

There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as it were an error which proceedeth from the ruler:

Righteous art thou, O Jehovah, when I contend with thee; yet would I reason the cause with thee: wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they at ease that deal very treacherously?

Then I saw all labor and every skilful work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.

It is all one; therefore I say, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.If the scourge slay suddenly, He will mock at the trial of the innocent.The earth is given into the hand of the wicked; He covereth the faces of the judges thereof: If it be not he, who then is it?
