Even though a sinner might commit a hundred crimes and still live a long time, yet I know that it will go well with God-fearing people– for they stand in fear before him.

罪人虽然作恶百次，倒享长久的年日；然而我准知道，敬畏神的，就是在他面前敬畏的人，终久必得福乐。

罪人作惡百次、而享遐齡、然我深知寅畏上帝者、必獲福祉、

作惡之人、屢蹈罪愆、反享遐齡、然吾知寅畏上帝者、終必受厥綏祉、

惡人雖百次行惡、仍享遐齡、然我知敬畏天主者、在天主前存敬畏心者、終得享福、

Although a wicked person who commits a hundred crimes may live a long time, I know that it will go better with those who fear God, who are reverent before him.

An evil person may be guilty of a hundred crimes. Yet they may still live a long time. But I know that things will go better with those who have great respect for God.

Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and prolongs his life, yet I know that it will be well with those who fear God, because they fear before him.

But even though a person sins a hundred times and still lives a long time, I know that those who fear God will be better off.

But the oppressed will possess the land and enjoy great prosperity.

During the days of my fleeting life I have seen both of these things: Sometimes a righteous person dies prematurely in spite of his righteousness, and sometimes a wicked person lives long in spite of his evil deeds.

The LORD watches over the innocent day by day and they possess a permanent inheritance.They will not be ashamed when hard times come; when famine comes they will have enough to eat.

– if so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from their trials, and to reserve the unrighteous for punishment at the day of judgment,

But what if God, willing to demonstrate his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the objects of wrath prepared for destruction?

For the waywardness of the simpletons will kill them, and the careless ease of fools will destroy them.But the one who listens to me will live in security, and will be at ease from the dread of harm.

Never again will one of her infants live just a few days or an old man die before his time. Indeed, no one will die before the age of a hundred, anyone who fails to reach the age of a hundred will be considered cursed.They will build houses and live in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.No longer will they build a house only to have another live in it, or plant a vineyard only to have another eat its fruit, for my people will live as long as trees, and my chosen ones will enjoy to the fullest what they have produced.They will not work in vain, or give birth to children that will experience disaster. For the LORD will bless their children and their descendants.Before they even call out, I will respond; while they are still speaking, I will hear.

Then the king will say to those on his right,‘ Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath for yourselves in the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed!

I also know that whatever God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it, and nothing taken away from it. God has made it this way, so that men will fear him.

Tell the innocent it will go well with them, for they will be rewarded for what they have done.Too bad for the wicked sinners! For they will get exactly what they deserve.

from generation to generation he is merciful to those who fear him.

So this is what the sovereign LORD says:“ Look, my servants will eat, but you will be hungry! Look, my servants will drink, but you will be thirsty! Look, my servants will rejoice, but you will be humiliated!Look, my servants will shout for joy as happiness fills their hearts! But you will cry out as sorrow fills your hearts; you will wail because your spirits will be crushed.

Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is established, it cannot be moved.

It is best to take hold of one warning without letting go of the other warning; for the one who fears God will follow both warnings.

Worship the LORD in holy attire! Tremble before him, all the earth!

Praise the LORD! How blessed is the one who obeys the LORD, who takes great delight in keeping his commands.

Now an archer shot an arrow at random, and it struck the king of Israel between the plates of his armor. The king ordered his charioteer,“ Turn around and take me from the battle line, because I’m wounded.”While the battle raged throughout the day, the king stood propped up in his chariot opposite the Syrians. He died in the evening; the blood from the wound ran down into the bottom of the chariot.

This is another misfortune: Just as he came, so will he go. What did he gain from toiling for the wind?

“ Then he will say to those on his left,‘ Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire that has been prepared for the devil and his angels!For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink.I was a stranger and you did not receive me as a guest, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’Then they too will answer,‘ Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not give you whatever you needed?’Then he will answer them,‘ I tell you the truth, just as you did not do it for one of the least of these, you did not do it for me.’And these will depart into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

( There had never been anyone like Ahab, who was firmly committed to doing evil in the sight of the LORD, urged on by his wife Jezebel.

You must not eat it so that it may go well with you and your children after you; you will be doing what is right in the LORD’s sight.

“ You know what Joab son of Zeruiah did to me– how he murdered two commanders of the Israelite armies, Abner son of Ner and Amasa son of Jether. During peacetime he struck them down like he would in battle; when he shed their blood as if in battle, he stained his own belt and the sandals on his feet.Do to him what you think is appropriate, but don’t let him live long and die a peaceful death.“ Treat fairly the sons of Barzillai of Gilead and provide for their needs, because they helped me when I had to flee from your brother Absalom.“ Note well, you still have to contend with Shimei son of Gera, the Benjaminite from Bahurim, who tried to call down upon me a horrible judgment when I went to Mahanaim. He came down and met me at the Jordan, and I solemnly promised him by the LORD,‘ I will not strike you down with the sword.’But now don’t treat him as if he were innocent. You are a wise man and you know how to handle him; make sure he has a bloody death.”

Calamity pursues sinners, but prosperity rewards the righteous.

He will bless his loyal followers, both young and old.
