惡人雖百次行惡、仍享遐齡、然我知敬畏天主者、在天主前存敬畏心者、終得享福、

Although a wicked person who commits a hundred crimes may live a long time, I know that it will go better with those who fear God, who are reverent before him.

An evil person may be guilty of a hundred crimes. Yet they may still live a long time. But I know that things will go better with those who have great respect for God.

Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and prolongs his life, yet I know that it will be well with those who fear God, because they fear before him.

then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from a trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,

What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with great patience objects of wrath prepared for destruction?

For the faithlessness of the naive will kill them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them.But whoever listens to me will live securely And will be at ease from the dread of evil.”

No longer will there be in it an infant who lives only a few days, Or an old person who does not live out his days; For the youth will die at the age of a hundred, And the one who does not reach the age of a hundred Will be thought accursed.They will build houses and inhabit them; They will also plant vineyards and eat their fruit.They will not build and another inhabit, They will not plant and another eat; For as the lifetime of a tree, so will be the days of My people, And My chosen ones will fully enjoy the work of their hands.They will not labor in vain, Or give birth to children for disaster; For they are the descendants of those blessed by the Lord, And their descendants with them.It will also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will listen.

“ Then the King will say to those on His right,‘ Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it. And God has so worked, that people will fear Him.

Say to the righteous that it will go well for them, For they will eat the fruit of their actions.Woe to the wicked! It will go badly for him, For what he deserves will be done to him.

And His mercy is to generation after generation Toward those who fear Him.

Therefore, this is what the Lord God says:“ Behold, My servants will eat, but you will be hungry. Behold, My servants will drink, but you will be thirsty. Behold, My servants will rejoice, but you will be put to shame.Behold, My servants will shout joyfully with a glad heart, But you will cry out from a painful heart, And you will wail from a broken spirit.

Tremble before Him, all the earth; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.

It is good that you grasp one thing while not letting go of the other; for one who fears God comes out with both of them.

Worship the Lord in holy attire; Tremble before Him, all the earth.

Praise the Lord! Blessed is a person who fears the Lord, Who greatly delights in His commandments.

Now one man drew his bow at random and struck the king of Israel in a joint of the armor. So he said to the driver of his chariot,“ Turn around and take me out of the battle, for I am severely wounded.”The battle raged on that day, and the king was propped up in his chariot in front of the Arameans, and he died at evening, and the blood from the wound ran into the bottom of the chariot.

This also is a sickening evil: exactly as a person is born, so will he die. What then is the advantage for him who labors for the wind?

“ Then He will also say to those on His left,‘ Depart from Me, you accursed people, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink;I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’Then they themselves also will answer,‘ Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or as a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’Then He will answer them,‘ Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it for one of the least of these, you did not do it for Me, either.’These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

There certainly was no one like Ahab who gave himself over to do evil in the sight of the Lord, because Jezebel his wife incited him.

You shall not eat it, so that it may go well for you and your sons after you, since you will be doing what is right in the sight of the Lord.

“ Now you yourself also know what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, what he did to the two commanders of the armies of Israel, to Abner the son of Ner and to Amasa the son of Jether, whom he killed; he also shed the blood of war in peace. But when he came down to meet me at the Jordan, I swore to him by the Lord, saying,‘ I will not put you to death with the sword.’But now do not leave him unpunished, for you are a wise man; and you will know what to do to him, and you will bring his gray hair down to Sheol with blood.”

Adversity pursues sinners, But the righteous will be rewarded with prosperity.

He will bless those who fear the Lord, The small together with the great.
