因為愚昧人的笑聲，好像鍋子下面燒荊棘的爆聲，這也是虛空。

因為愚昧人的笑聲，好像鍋子下面燒荊棘的爆聲，這也是虛空。

愚人的笑聲像鍋底下燒荊棘的噼啪聲。這也是虛空。

愚昧人的笑聲，就像鍋底下荊棘的爆聲一樣。這也是虛空。

鍋底下荊棘的爆裂聲怎麼樣，愚頑人的笑聲也怎麼樣：這也是虛空。

因為愚昧人的笑聲，好像熱鍋下面荊棘的爆聲。這也是虛空！

愚者之笑、猶釜底焚荊棘之聲、斯亦虛空、

愚人之笑、如荊棘、為爨火所焚、莫非捕風也。

愚者之笑聲、猶荊棘焚於釜下之聲、此亦屬於虛、

Like the crackling of thorns under the pot, so is the laughter of fools. This too is meaningless.

A foolish person’s laughter is like the crackling of thorns burning under a pot. That doesn’t have any meaning either.

For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fools; this also is vanity.

A fool’s laughter is quickly gone, like thorns crackling in a fire. This also is meaningless.

for like the crackling of burning thorns under the pot, so is the laughter of the fool. This too is futile.

Before your pots can feel the fire of thorns He will sweep them away with a whirlwind, the green and the burning alike.

I said of laughter,“ It is senseless,” and of pleasure,“ What does this accomplish?”

suffering wrong as the wages of doing wrong. They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are stains and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions as they feast with you,having eyes full of adultery that never cease from sin, enticing unstable souls, having hearts trained in greed, accursed children;abandoning the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the reward of unrighteousness;but he received a rebuke for his own offense, for a mute donkey, speaking with a human voice, restrained the insanity of the prophet.These are springs without water and mists driven by a storm, for whom the black darkness has been reserved.

These are the ones who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, like shepherds caring only for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted;wild waves of the sea, churning up their own shameful deeds like dirty foam; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of darkness has been reserved forever.

When a wise person has a controversy with a foolish person, The foolish person either rages or laughs, and there is no rest.

Then I will turn your festivals into mourning, And all your songs into songs of mourning; And I will put sackcloth around everyone’s waist, And baldness on every head. And I will make it like a time of mourning for an only son, And the end of it will be like a bitter day.

But Abraham said,‘ Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony.

Therefore, this is what the Lord God says:“ Behold, My servants will eat, but you will be hungry. Behold, My servants will drink, but you will be thirsty. Behold, My servants will rejoice, but you will be put to shame.Behold, My servants will shout joyfully with a glad heart, But you will cry out from a painful heart, And you will wail from a broken spirit.You will leave your name as a curse to My chosen ones, And the Lord God will put you to death. But My servants will be called by another name.

Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.
