I find more bitter than death the woman who is a snare, whose heart is a trap and whose hands are chains. The man who pleases God will escape her, but the sinner she will ensnare.

A woman who hunts a man down is more painful than death. Her heart is like a trap. Her hands are like chains. A man who pleases God will try to get away from her. But she will trap a sinner.

And I find something more bitter than death: the woman whose heart is snares and nets, and whose hands are fetters. He who pleases God escapes her, but the sinner is taken by her.

I discovered that a seductive woman is a trap more bitter than death. Her passion is a snare, and her soft hands are chains. Those who are pleasing to God will escape her, but sinners will be caught in her snare.

淫婦的口為深坑；耶和華所憎惡的，必陷在其中。

因為淫婦的嘴滴下蜂蜜；她的口比油更滑，至終卻苦似茵蔯，快如兩刃的刀。她的腳下入死地；她腳步踏住陰間，

她的家陷入死地；她的路偏向陰間。凡到她那裏去的，不得轉回，也得不着生命的路。

神喜悅誰，就給誰智慧、知識，和喜樂；惟有罪人，神使他勞苦，叫他將所收聚的、所堆積的歸給神所喜悅的人。這也是虛空，也是捕風。

智慧要救你脫離淫婦，就是那油嘴滑舌的外女。

淫婦用許多巧言誘他隨從，用諂媚的嘴逼他同行。少年人立刻跟隨她，好像牛往宰殺之地；又像愚昧人帶鎖鍊去受刑罰，直等箭穿他的肝；如同雀鳥急入網羅，卻不知是自喪己命。眾子啊，現在要聽從我，留心聽我口中的話。你的心不可偏向淫婦的道，不要入她的迷途。因為，被她傷害仆倒的不少；被她殺戮的而且甚多。她的家是在陰間之路，下到死亡之宮。

妓女是深坑；外女是窄阱。她埋伏好像強盜；她使人中多有奸詐的。

人卻不知有陰魂在她那裏；她的客在陰間的深處。

大利拉見他把心中所藏的都告訴了她，就打發人到非利士人的首領那裏，對他們說：「他已經把心中所藏的都告訴了我，請你們再上來一次。」於是非利士人的首領手裏拿着銀子，上到婦人那裏。大利拉使參孫枕着她的膝睡覺，叫了一個人來剃除他頭上的七條髮綹。於是大利拉剋制他，他的力氣就離開他了。大利拉說：「參孫哪，非利士人拿你來了！」參孫從睡中醒來，心裏說：「我要像前幾次出去活動身體」；他卻不知道耶和華已經離開他了。非利士人將他拿住，剜了他的眼睛，帶他下到迦薩，用銅鍊拘索他；他就在監裏推磨。
