I find more bitter than death the woman who is a snare, whose heart is a trap and whose hands are chains. The man who pleases God will escape her, but the sinner she will ensnare.

A woman who hunts a man down is more painful than death. Her heart is like a trap. Her hands are like chains. A man who pleases God will try to get away from her. But she will trap a sinner.

And I find something more bitter than death: the woman whose heart is snares and nets, and whose hands are fetters. He who pleases God escapes her, but the sinner is taken by her.

淫婦的口是深坑，耶和華所惱恨的必陷在其中。

因為淫婦的嘴唇滴下蜂蜜，她的口比油更滑；至終卻苦似苦菫，快如兩刃的劍。她的腳走下死地，她的腳步踏向陰間。

她的家陷入死地，她的路徑下落陰間。凡是進到她那裡去的，都不能轉回，必得不著生路。

神把智慧、知識和喜樂賜給他所喜悅的人，卻使罪人作收集和積聚的差事，把所得的歸給神所喜悅的人。這也是虛空，也是捕風。

智慧要救你脫離淫婦，脫離說諂媚話的妓女。

淫婦用許多花言巧語引誘他，用諂媚的嘴唇勾引他。少年人就立刻跟隨她，好像牛走向屠房，又像愚妄人帶著鎖鍊去受刑罰，直到箭矢射透他的肝；他仿佛飛鳥投入網羅，並不知道會喪失性命。孩子們，現在你們要聽從我，留心聽我口中的話。你的心不可偏向淫婦的道路，也不要迷戀她的路徑。因為她使許多人倒斃，被她殺害的實在無數。她的家是通往陰間的路，是下到死亡的宮房。

因為妓女是深坑，淫婦是狹窄的井。她像強盜一樣埋伏，使人間增添很多奸詐的人。

人卻不知道她那裡有陰魂，她的客人是在陰間的深處。

大利拉見參孫把心中的一切都告訴了她，就派人去請非利士人的領袖來，說：“這一次你們上來吧！因為他已經把心中的一切都告訴了我。”於是非利士人的領袖上到婦人那裡，手裡帶著銀子上去。大利拉使參孫睡在自己的膝上，又叫了一個人來，把參孫頭上的七條髮辮都剃去；大利拉就克制了他，因他的力氣離開了他。大利拉說：“參孫哪，非利士人上來捉你了！”參孫從睡夢中醒來，心裡說：“我要像前幾次一樣掙扎出去，必能脫身。”但他不知道耶和華已經離開他了。非利士人把他捉住，剜去了他的眼睛，帶他下到迦薩，用銅鍊捆綁著他，他就在監牢裡推磨。
