我轉而思之、專心欲得知識、欲究萬事、欲求智慧明哲、且欲知何為惡、何為愚、何為拙、何為狂、且欲知何為惡何為愚何為拙何為狂或作且欲知惡之為愚拙之為狂

我转念，一心要知道，要考察，要寻求智慧和万事的理由；又要知道邪恶为愚昧，愚昧为狂妄。

我盡心求道、欲知事理之所以、亦欲知愚昧之不善、

So I turned my mind to understand, to investigate and to search out wisdom and the scheme of things and to understand the stupidity of wickedness and the madness of folly.

So I tried to understand wisdom more completely. I wanted to study it and figure it out. I tried to find out everything I could about it. I tried to understand why it’s foolish to be evil. I wanted to see why choosing foolishness is so unwise.

I turned my heart to know and to search out and to seek wisdom and the scheme of things, and to know the wickedness of folly and the foolishness that is madness.

I searched everywhere, determined to find wisdom and to understand the reason for things. I was determined to prove to myself that wickedness is stupid and that foolishness is madness.

I turned my thoughts to know, explore, and examine wisdom and an explanation for things, and to know that wickedness is stupidity and folly is madness.

I directed my mind to know and to investigate, and to seek wisdom and an explanation, and to know the evil of foolishness and the foolishness of insanity.

I applied my heart to know, To search and seek out wisdom and the reason of things, To know the wickedness of folly, Even of foolishness and madness.

I turned about, and my heart was set to know and to search out, and to seek wisdom and the reason of things, and to know that wickedness is folly, and that foolishness is madness.

I tried to understand, examine, and comprehend the role of wisdom in the scheme of things, and to understand the stupidity of wickedness and the insanity of folly.

I turned around, and my heart sought to know and to search out, and to seek wisdom and the scheme of things, and to know that wickedness is stupidity, and that foolishness is madness.

其口之言、始則愚拙、終則狂妄、

我專心觀此諸事、究此諸事、知善人與智人及其作為、皆為天主所掌、或愛或惡、人無所能知、因諸事盡屬未來、或愛或惡人無所能知因諸事盡屬未來或作或愛或惡與諸未來之事人無所能知眾人所遇之事、皆同然無異、義人、惡人、善人、潔者、不潔者、獻祭者、不獻祭者、行善者、作惡者、發誓者、忌發誓者、所遇惟一、眾人所遇惟一、此日下萬事中最患之事、故世人心充以惡、生時心存狂妄、後則歸於死者之中、

柯希列曰、我以萬事一一考察、欲得其詳、即察得此、

彼由貪婪、以飾言惑爾、視如貿易得利、彼受鞫見罰、自古擬定、速至不遲、彼之淪亡即臨、即臨原文作不寢昔天使犯罪、天主亦未惜之、投於地獄、縛於幽暗中、以待審判、亦未惜先古之世、以洪水罰彼不虔敬之惡世、惟救傳義道之挪亞等八人、又擬定傾覆所多瑪及俄摩拉二邑、焚為灰燼、以警後世之惡者、惟救義人羅得、彼因惡人邪僻之行而深憂、蓋此義人居於彼中、目見耳聞其非法之事、傷其義心、惟主知拯救虔敬之人、脫於苦難、而留不義之人、待審判之日受刑、

於是我念及我在日下勞碌經營、我則失望、

我轉觀智慧、狂妄、癡頑、我既為王、後我而來者能行何事乎、不過行所已行者、

我專心致志、以智慧考察窮究日下所作之事、乃知此為苦任、天主所畀於人、欲人因以自勞、我觀日下所作之事、皆屬於虛、皆如捕風、曲者不能直、缺者不能補、不能補或作不可勝數我自思曰、原文作我心中自言曰我既得大業、又得智慧、勝於先我所有治耶路撒冷者、勝於先我所有治耶路撒冷者或作勝於先我居耶路撒冷者我心多有有原文作觀智慧與知識、不如專心考辨、何為智慧、何為癡頑、何為愚蒙、乃知此亦如捕風、

我自思曰、原文作我心中曰不如試宴樂、享安逸、乃知此亦屬於虛、我言嬉笑為狂、宴樂何為、我又自思、我且飲酒以樂我身、心仍導以智慧、又執守愚拙、直至我得見人生在世、人生在世原文作人在天下終身行何事為美、

我若與主爭辯、主必顯為至公、雖然、我猶敢與主理論、惡人之道途亨通、奸詐之人平康、何故哉、主栽植斯人、使之根深、長而結果、口則附主、心則遠主、

爾起、使民自潔、諭之曰、明日當自潔、蓋主以色列之天主如是云、以色列人、爾中有擅取歸我物之罪、故爾未除此罪、不能禦敵、

寧遇失子之母熊、莫遇愚者適行愚妄、

我又見日下審判之所、竟有偏私、當行公義之處、反有不義、我自思曰、善惡自有天主審鞫、惟凡事諸工、在天主前俱有定期、

雅各眾子聞之、即自田歸、因示劍辱以色列、與雅各女偕寢、行所不當行者、不勝憂忿、

曰、我兄、不可、勿辱我、以色列中不可如此行、勿行此可恥可恥或作醜惡之事、

愚者行愚、行而復行、猶如犬食、吐而復食、

首先當知在末世必有縱己慾、好戲笑之人出、戲曰、所許主復臨之言、應驗安在、自列祖去世去世原文作寢以來、萬物如故、與創造之始無異、彼不欲知太初以主命而有天、亦有地出於水、賴水而立、賴水而立或作立於水中當時之世、亦為水所滅、即在洪水汎濫之時也、今之天地、賴天主之命而存、迨審判惡人淪亡之日、則以火焚之、可愛者乎、爾不可不知、主觀一日如千年、千年如一日、主所許者尚未應驗、人以為主遲緩、實則主非遲緩、乃寛容我儕、欲人皆悔改、不欲有一人淪亡、
