因此，我必用荊棘堵塞她的道，築牆擋住她，使她找不着路。她必追隨所愛的，卻追不上；她必尋找他們，卻尋不見，便說：我要歸回前夫，因我那時的光景比如今還好。

他醒悟過來，就說：『我父親有多少的雇工，口糧有餘，我倒在這裏餓死嗎？我要起來，到我父親那裏去，向他說：父親！我得罪了天，又得罪了你；

這事以後，作那家主母的婦人，她兒子病了；病得甚重，以致身無氣息。婦人對以利亞說：「神人哪，我與你何干？你竟到我這裏來，使神想念我的罪，以致我的兒子死呢？」

所以，他將猛烈的怒氣和爭戰的勇力傾倒在以色列的身上。在他四圍如火着起，他還不知道，燒着他，他也不介意。

耶和華的怒氣必不轉消，直到他心中所擬定的成就了。末後的日子你們要全然明白。

他苦煉你，任你飢餓，將你和你列祖所不認識的嗎哪賜給你吃，使你知道，人活着不是單靠食物，乃是靠耶和華口裏所出的一切話。

堅固門徒的心，勸他們恆守所信的道；又說：「我們進入神的國，必須經歷許多艱難。」

這些事都已聽見了，總意就是：敬畏神，謹守他的誡命，這是人所當盡的本分。

你們現在也是憂愁，但我要再見你們，你們的心就喜樂了；這喜樂也沒有人能奪去。到那日，你們甚麼也就不問我了。我實實在在地告訴你們，你們若向父求甚麼，他必因我的名賜給你們。

你已將我的哀哭變為跳舞，將我的麻衣脫去，給我披上喜樂，好叫我的靈歌頌你，並不住聲。耶和華－我的神啊，我要稱謝你，直到永遠！

我厭煩我的性命，必由着自己述說我的哀情；因心裏苦惱，我要說話，對神說：不要定我有罪，要指示我，你為何與我爭辯？

當那日，主－萬軍之耶和華叫人哭泣哀號，頭上光禿，身披麻布。誰知，人倒歡喜快樂，宰牛殺羊，吃肉喝酒，說：我們吃喝吧！因為明天要死了。萬軍之耶和華親自默示我說：這罪孽直到你們死，斷不得赦免！這是主－萬軍之耶和華說的。

他們若在擄到之地想起罪來，回心轉意，懇求你說：『我們有罪了，我們悖逆了，我們作惡了』；

耶和華向這城呼叫，智慧人必敬畏他的名。你們當聽是誰派定刑杖的懲罰。

現在萬軍之耶和華如此說：你們要省察自己的行為。你們撒的種多，收的卻少；你們吃，卻不得飽；喝，卻不得足；穿衣服，卻不得暖；得工錢的，將工錢裝在破漏的囊中。」萬軍之耶和華如此說：「你們要省察自己的行為。

你們中間有受苦的呢，他就該禱告；有喜樂的呢，他就該歌頌。

耶和華啊，你的手高舉，他們仍然不看；卻要看你為百姓發的熱心，因而抱愧，並且有火燒滅你的敵人。

我受苦是與我有益，為要使我學習你的律例。

耶和華啊，你所管教、用律法所教訓的人是有福的！你使他在遭難的日子得享平安；惟有惡人陷在所挖的坑中。

經上說：『我喜愛憐恤，不喜愛祭祀。』這句話的意思，你們且去揣摩。我來本不是召義人，乃是召罪人。」
