坚固门徒们的心，鼓励他们持守信仰，说：“我们进入神的国，必须经过很多患难。”

听完了这一切，结论就是：当敬畏神，谨守他的诫命，因为这是每一个人的本份。

这样，你们现在虽然也有忧虑，但是我会再见到你们，你们心里将喜乐，并且没有人能夺去你们的喜乐。在那一天，你们什么也不会问我了。“我确确实实地告诉你们：你们奉我的名无论向父求什么，他都将赐给你们。

你已将我的哀哭变为跳舞，你已脱去我的麻衣，为我披上喜乐，好让我的灵歌颂你，不致静默。耶和华我的神哪，我要称谢你，直到永远！

到那日，主万军之耶和华呼吁你们哭泣哀号、剃光头发、束上麻布。看哪！你们却欢喜快乐，杀牛宰羊，吃肉喝酒，说：“让我们吃喝吧！因为明天我们就要死了。”万军之耶和华亲自启示我：“这罪孽，你们到死也绝不会赎清！”这是主万军之耶和华说的。

你们中间谁受苦，就应该祷告；谁欢喜，就应该歌颂。

耶和华啊，你的手高举，他们却不看！愿他们看到你对子民的热心就蒙羞；愿你为敌人所预备的烈火吞噬他们！

我受磨炼使我受益，好让我学习你的律例。

耶和华啊！你所管教、用律法教导的人，是蒙福的。你使他在灾祸的日子里平稳，直到给恶人挖好了深坑；

你们去学‘我要的是怜悯，而不是祭祀’这话是什么意思吧！我来不是要召唤义人，而是要召唤罪人。”
