人如果生下百子，活了许多岁数，年日长久，但是心里不因美物满足，又得不到安葬，我以为流产的胎比他还好。

人若生一百个儿子，活许多岁数，以致他的年日甚多，心里却不得满享福乐，又不得埋葬；据我说，那不到期而落的胎比他倒好。

人苟生百子、享壽高、歷年久、而心不得享福、身不獲安葬、我謂未盈期而生者、較彼尤愈、

人有百子、又獲遐齡、生不能享福、死不得善葬、以我觀之、胎未成人者、較彼愈美。

設人生百子、又享遐齡、在世之年日甚多、而不得享所有以為福、死後亦不得安葬、以我觀之、以我觀之原文作我則曰胎死者較彼尤美、

A man may have a hundred children and live many years; yet no matter how long he lives, if he cannot enjoy his prosperity and does not receive proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.

A man might have a hundred children. He might live a long time. But suppose he can’t enjoy his wealth. And suppose he isn’t buried in the proper way. Then it doesn’t matter how long he lives. I’m telling you that a baby that is born dead is better off than that man is.

If a man fathers a hundred children and lives many years, so that the days of his years are many, but his soul is not satisfied with life’s good things, and he also has no burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.

A man might have a hundred children and live to be very old. But if he finds no satisfaction in life and doesn’t even get a decent burial, it would have been better for him to be born dead.

A man may father a hundred children and live many years. No matter how long he lives, if he is not satisfied by good things and does not even have a proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.

我为什么不像暗中流产的胎，未见天日的婴孩，归于无有呢？

那还没生下来的，就是还没看过日光之下所行的恶事的，比这两种人更有福。

他像驴子一样被埋葬，被拖走，抛在耶路撒冷城门外。”

于是他们去收殓她，却找不到她的尸体，只找到头骨、双脚和双掌。

雅各回答法老：“我寄居在世的年日是一百三十岁。我一生的年日又少又苦，不及我祖先寄居在世的年日。”

但你要从你的坟墓中被逐出，好像一根被厌弃的树枝，你被那些遭刀剑所杀的人掩盖，就是那些被抛到坑中石头那里的人。你就像一具遭人践踏的尸体。你必不得与别的君王同葬，因为你败坏了你的国，杀戮了你的人民；愿那些恶人的后裔永远不被人提说。

以利给以利加拿和他的妻子祝福，说：“愿耶和华从这妇人身上还给你后裔，代替你献给耶和华的孩子。”他们就回自己的地方去了。耶和华眷顾哈拿，她再怀孕，先后生了三个儿子和两个女儿。那孩子撒母耳在耶和华面前，渐渐长大。

以扫举目观看，看见妇人和孩子，就问：“这些与你同来的人是谁？”雅各回答：“是神赐给你仆人的孩子。”

王就下令这样行；谕旨传遍书珊，人就把哈曼的十个儿子挂在木架上。亚达月十四日，在书珊的犹大人又聚集起来，在书珊杀了三百人，却没有下手掠夺他们的财物。

抛散在太阳、月亮和天上的万象之下，就是他们从前所爱慕、服事、跟随、求问、敬拜的。这些骸骨必不再被收殓埋葬，必在地面上成为粪肥。

亚哈有七十个儿子在撒玛利亚。耶户写了一批信，送到撒玛利亚，对耶斯列的首领、长老和亚哈众子的导师说：

罗波安共娶了十八个妻子和六十个妾；共生了二十八个儿子，六十个女儿；他却爱押沙龙的外孙女玛迦，胜过其他的妻妾。

正如经上指着人子所说的，他固然要离世，但出卖人子的那人有祸了！他没有生下来倒好。”

他终生在黑暗中吃喝，多有愁烦、疾病与愤怨。我认为既善又美的，就是人在神所赐给他一生有限的年日中吃喝，享受他在日光之下劳碌所得的一切，因为这是他的分。蒙神赐予财富与资产的人，神都使他能够享用，并取自己的分，在劳碌中自得其乐，这是神的恩赐。

愿他们像蜗牛般蠕行消融，如同妇人流产未见天日的胎儿。

于是他们把哈曼挂在他为末底改预备的木架上；王的忿怒才渐渐止息。

因此，耶和华论到犹大王约雅敬这样说：他的后代必没有人坐在大卫的王位上；他的尸体必抛弃在外，日间受炎热，夜间受寒霜。

在我的众子中（因为耶和华赐给我许多儿子），他拣选了我的儿子所罗门，坐耶和华的国位，统治以色列。

年轻时所生的儿女，好像勇士手中的箭。箭袋装满了箭的人是有福的，他们在城门口和仇敌说话的时候，必不至于羞愧。

儿孙是老人的冠冕，父亲是儿女的荣耀。

哈曼把他的富贵荣华、儿女的众多，以及王怎样使他尊大，怎样抬举他在王的众领袖和众臣仆之上的一切事，都数说给他们听。
