人生斯世、歷日無幾、如影沉西、逝世之後、不識復有何事、以是觀之、安在所謂真福。

人生於世、為日無多、虛空若影、孰能知在世之時、何者為益、人逝世後、將有何事於日下、孰能告之、

For who knows what is good for a person in life, during the few and meaningless days they pass through like a shadow? Who can tell them what will happen under the sun after they are gone?

Who knows what’s good for a person? They live for only a few meaningless days. They pass through life like a shadow. Who can tell them what will happen on earth after they are gone?

For who knows what is good for man while he lives the few days of his vain life, which he passes like a shadow? For who can tell man what will be after him under the sun?

In the few days of our meaningless lives, who knows how our days can best be spent? Our lives are like a shadow. Who can tell what will happen on this earth after we are gone?

For who knows what is good for anyone in life, in the few days of his futile life that he spends like a shadow? Who can tell anyone what will happen after him under the sun?

其實明天如何，你們還不知道。你們的生命是甚麼呢？你們原來是一片雲霧，出現片刻就不見了。

他出來如花，凋謝而去；他飛逝如影，不能存留。

我心裏說：「耶和華是我的福分，因此，我要仰望他。」凡等候耶和華，心裏尋求他的，耶和華必施恩給他。人仰望耶和華，安靜等候他的救恩，這是好的。人在年輕時負軛，這是好的。

總而言之，人能夠在他經營的事上喜樂，是最好不過了，因為這是他應得的報償。他身後的事誰能領他回來看呢？

惡人卻不得福樂，他的日子好像影兒不得長久，因為他不敬畏上帝。

人不過像一口氣，他的年日如影消逝。

看哪，你使我的年日窄如手掌，我一生的年數，在你面前如同無有；各人最穩妥的時候，真是全然虛幻。（細拉）世人行動實係幻影，他們忙亂，真是枉然，積蓄財寶，不知將來有誰收取。

他不知道將來的事，其實將來如何，誰能告訴他呢？

我們一生的年日是七十歲，若是強壯可到八十歲；但其中所矜誇的不過是勞苦愁煩，轉眼即逝，我們便如飛而去。誰曉得你怒氣的權勢？誰因着敬畏你而曉得你的憤怒呢？求你指教我們怎樣數算自己的日子，好叫我們得着智慧的心。

至於我，我必因公正得見你的面；我醒了的時候，你的形像使我滿足。

求你想念我的生命是何等短暫。你創造世人，要使他們歸於何等的虛空呢？

我的年日如夕陽，我也如草枯乾。

世人哪，耶和華已指示你何為善。他向你所要的是甚麼呢？只要你行公義，好憐憫，存謙卑的心與你的上帝同行。

他們的愛，他們的恨，他們的嫉妒，早就消滅了。在日光之下所發生的一切事，他們永不再有份了。

我們在你面前是客旅，是寄居的，與我們的列祖一樣。我們在世的日子如影子，沒有盼望。

我如日影偏斜而去，如蝗蟲被抖出來。

我們不過從昨日才有，一無所知，因我們在世的日子好像影子。

有許多人說：「誰能指示我們甚麼好處？耶和華啊，求你用你臉上的光照耀我們。」

他的兒子得尊榮，他不知道；他們降為卑，他也不曉得。

這些事都已聽見了，結論就是：敬畏上帝，謹守他的誡命，這是人當盡的本分。

他為我們選擇產業，就是他所愛之雅各的榮耀。（細拉）

我心以智慧引導我，我心裏探究，如何用酒使身體舒暢，如何抓住愚昧，直等我看明世人在天下短暫一生中，當行何事為美。

耶和華是我的產業，是我杯中的福分；我所得的，你為我持守。
