Whatever exists has already been named, and what humanity is has been known; no one can contend with someone who is stronger.

God has already planned what now exists. He has already decided what a human being is. No one can argue with someone who is stronger.

Whatever has come to be has already been named, and it is known what man is, and that he is not able to dispute with one stronger than he.

Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there’s no use arguing with God about your destiny.

「強辯的豈可與全能者爭論？與上帝辯駁的可以回答吧！」

現今的事以前就有了，將來的事也早已有了，並且上帝使已過的事重新再來。

人若想要與他爭辯，千次中也不能回答一次。他心裏有智慧，且大有能力。誰向上帝剛硬而得平安呢？

「人為婦人所生，日子短少，多有患難。他出來如花，凋謝而去；他飛逝如影，不能存留。這樣的人你豈會睜眼看他，又叫我來，在你那裏受審嗎？誰能使潔淨出於污穢呢？誰也不能！

我曾說：「你們是諸神，都是至高者的兒子。然而，你們要死去，與世人一樣，要仆倒，像任何一位王子一般。」

世人行動實係幻影，他們忙亂，真是枉然，積蓄財寶，不知將來有誰收取。

又對亞當說：「你既聽從你妻子的話，吃了那樹上所出的，就是我吩咐你不可吃的，土地必因你的緣故受詛咒；你必終生勞苦才能從土地得吃的。土地必給你長出荊棘和蒺藜來；你也要吃田間的五穀菜蔬。你必汗流滿面才有食物可吃，直到你歸了土地，因為你是從土地而出的。你本是塵土，仍要歸回塵土。」

這樣，你會對我說：「那麼，他為甚麼還指責人呢？有誰能抗拒他的旨意呢？」你這個人哪，你是誰，竟敢向上帝頂嘴呢？受造之物豈會對造他的說：「你為甚麼把我造成這樣呢？」

你為何與他爭論：『他任何事都不向人解答』？

看哪，就像獅子從約旦河邊的叢林上來，攻擊堅固的居所，我要在轉眼之間使以東人逃跑，離開這地。我揀選誰，就派誰治理這地。誰能像我呢？誰能召我出庭呢？有哪一個牧人能在我面前站得住呢？

至於世人，他的年日如草一樣。他興旺如野地的花，

已有的事，後必再有；已行的事，後必再行。日光之下並無新事。有一件事人指着說：「看，這是新的！」它在我們以前的世代早已有了。已過的事，無人記念；將來的事，後來的人也不記念。

耶和華上帝呼喚那人，對他說：「你在哪裏？」
