粵稽古昔、始摶土以為人、由此得名、以迄於今、若此焉得與全能者辯。

凡生於世者、名已先定、皆知是人耳、或作世人如何早已命定不能與力大於己者爭、

Whatever exists has already been named, and what humanity is has been known; no one can contend with someone who is stronger.

God has already planned what now exists. He has already decided what a human being is. No one can argue with someone who is stronger.

Whatever has come to be has already been named, and it is known what man is, and that he is not able to dispute with one stronger than he.

Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there’s no use arguing with God about your destiny.

人們往來行走，只是幻像；他們喧鬧，也是虛空；他們積聚，卻不知道誰會收取。

神又對亞當說：「因為你聽從了你妻子的話，吃了我吩咐你『不可吃』的那棵樹的果實，土地就因你的緣故受詛咒；你一生所有的日子都必辛苦，才能從土地得吃的。土地將給你長出荊棘和蒺藜；你也必吃田間的蔬草。你必汗流滿面才有飯吃，直到你歸回土地，因為你是從那裡取出來的。你本是塵土，就要歸回塵土。」

那麼，你會對我說：「既然如此，神為什麼還要指責人呢？到底誰能抵擋他的旨意呢？」哦，人哪！你到底是誰，竟然向神頂嘴呢？被造的難道可以對造它的說：「你為什麼把我造成這樣呢？」

至於世人，他的年日如草一樣，他興旺如野地的花，

已有的事，將來還會有；做過的事，將來還會做；日光之下沒有任何新事。難道有什麼事人可以說「看哪，這是新的」？其實，它在我們之前的世代早就有了。先前曾有的，無人記念；以後要來的，其後的人也不記念。

耶和華神呼喚那人，對他說：「你在哪裡？」
