粵稽古昔、始摶土以為人、由此得名、以迄於今、若此焉得與全能者辯。

凡生於世者、名已先定、皆知是人耳、或作世人如何早已命定不能與力大於己者爭、

Whatever exists has already been named, and what humanity is has been known; no one can contend with someone who is stronger.

God has already planned what now exists. He has already decided what a human being is. No one can argue with someone who is stronger.

Whatever has come to be has already been named, and it is known what man is, and that he is not able to dispute with one stronger than he.

Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there’s no use arguing with God about your destiny.

人们往来行走，只是幻像；他们喧闹，也是虚空；他们积蓄，却不知道谁会收取。

神又对亚当说：“因为你听从了你妻子的话，吃了我吩咐你‘不可吃’的那棵树的果实，土地就因你的缘故受诅咒；你一生所有的日子都必辛苦，才能从土地得吃的。土地将给你长出荆棘和蒺藜；你也必吃田间的蔬草。你必汗流满面才有饭吃，直到你归回土地，因为你是从那里取出来的。你本是尘土，就要归回尘土。”

那么，你会对我说：“既然如此，神为什么还要指责人呢？到底谁能抵挡他的旨意呢？”哦，人哪！你到底是谁，竟然向神顶嘴呢？被造的难道可以对造它的说：“你为什么把我造成这样呢？”

至于世人，他的年日如草一样，他兴旺如野地的花，

已有的事，将来还会有；做过的事，将来还会做；日光之下没有任何新事。难道有什么事人可以说“看哪，这是新的”？其实，它在我们之前的世代早就有了。先前曾有的，无人记念；以后要来的，其后的人也不记念。

耶和华神呼唤那人，对他说：“你在哪里？”
