There was no end to all the people who were before them. But those who came later were not pleased with the successor. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

At first, all the people served him when he became king. But those who came later weren’t pleased with the way he was ruling. That doesn’t have any meaning either. It’s like chasing the wind.

上帝所悅者、賜以智慧歡樂、若惡人則勞苦之、以其所積貨財、賜於善良、凡百之事、無非捕風捉影、以此益見矣。

如爾今日所為、待耶路巴力、與其家眾、真實無妄、則願爾以亞庇米力為悅、亦願亞庇米力以爾為悅。不然、願火自亞庇米力出、燬示劍人、與米羅族、亦願火自示劍人及米羅族出、燬亞庇米力。

對曰、斯民曾言、爾父使眾負重軛、請爾輕之、爾則應之曰、我之小指、較父之身尤巨。父使爾負重軛、我必益之、我父以鞭責爾、我必以蠍螫爾。越三日、耶羅破暗遵王命、率眾至王前、王不用老者之言、而從少者之謀、叱斯民曰、我父使爾負重軛、我必益之、我父以鞭責爾、我必以蠍螫爾。

民眾品簫、欣喜相從、其聲震地。○
