for he has come out of prison to become king, even though he was born poor in his kingdom.

有始而幽囚、後治國家者、有始為君王、後作窮民者。

蓋彼出獄而為王、今雖得國、生時則貧也、或作彼出自獄中為王此雖生時為王後反為貧民

The youth may have come from prison to the kingship, or he may have been born in poverty within his kingdom.

The young man might have come from prison to become king. Or he might have been born poor within the kingdom but still became king.

For he went from prison to the throne, though in his own kingdom he had been born poor.

Such a youth could rise from poverty and succeed. He might even become king, though he has been in prison.

For he came from prison to be king, even though he was born poor in his kingdom.

For he comes out of prison to be king, Although he was born poor in his kingdom.

For out of prison he came forth to be king; yea, even in his kingdom he was born poor.

For he came from prison to be king, even though he was born poor in his kingdom.

For out of prison he cometh to reign; whereas also[ he that is] born in his kingdom becometh poor.

Then Pharaoh sent word and called for Joseph, and they hurriedly brought him out of the dungeon; and when he had shaved himself and changed his clothes, he came to Pharaoh.

So that He sets on high those who are lowly, And those who mourn are lifted to safety.

He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the garbage heap,To seat them with noblemen, With the noblemen of His people.

In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant for three years; then he turned and revolted against him.And the Lord sent against him bands of Chaldeans, bands of Arameans, bands of Moabites, and bands of Ammonites. He sent them against Judah to destroy it, in accordance with the word of the Lord which He had spoken through His servants the prophets.

And they slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, then put out Zedekiah’s eyes and bound him with bronze shackles, and brought him to Babylon.

Now it came about in the thirty seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty seventh day of the month, that Evil merodach king of Babylon, in the year that he became king, released Jehoiachin king of Judah from prison;and he spoke kindly to him and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon.So Jehoiachin changed his prison clothes, and had his meals in the king’s presence regularly all the days of his life;and as his allowance, a regular allowance was given to him by the king, a portion for each day, all the days of his life.

So Jehoiakim lay down with his fathers, and his son Jehoiachin became king in his place.

So now let Pharaoh look for a man discerning and wise, and appoint him over the land of Egypt.Let Pharaoh take action to appoint overseers in charge of the land, and let him take a fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt as a tax in the seven years of abundance.Then have them collect all the food of these good years that are coming, and store up the grain for food in the cities under Pharaoh’s authority, and have them guard it.Let the food be used as a reserve for the land for the seven years of famine which will occur in the land of Egypt, so that the land will not perish during the famine.”Now the proposal seemed good to Pharaoh and to all his servants.Then Pharaoh said to his servants,“ Can we find a man like this, in whom there is a divine spirit?”So Pharaoh said to Joseph,“ Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you are.You shall be in charge of my house, and all my people shall be obedient to you; only regarding the throne will I be greater than you.”Pharaoh also said to Joseph,“ See, I have placed you over all the land of Egypt.”Then Pharaoh took off his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen, and put the gold necklace around his neck.And he had him ride in his second chariot; and they proclaimed ahead of him,“ Bow the knee!” And he placed him over all the land of Egypt.Moreover, Pharaoh said to Joseph,“ Though I am Pharaoh, yet without your permission no one shall raise his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.”

While the word was still in the king’s mouth, a voice came from heaven, saying,‘ King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared: sovereignty has been removed from you,

The breath of our nostrils, the Lord’s anointed, Was captured in their pits, Of whom we had said,“ In his shadow We shall live among the nations.”

Jehoahaz was twenty three years old when he became king, and he reigned for three months in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.He did evil in the sight of the Lord, in accordance with all that his forefathers had done.And Pharaoh Neco imprisoned him at Riblah in the land of Hamath, so that he would not reign in Jerusalem; and he imposed on the land a fine of a hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.Then Pharaoh Neco made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the place of his father Josiah, and he changed his name to Jehoiakim. But he took Jehoahaz and brought him to Egypt, and he died there.

Then Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, his mother, his servants, his commanders, and his officials. And the king of Babylon took him prisoner in the eighth year of his reign.

And he took away the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house, and he took everything; he even took all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.So King Rehoboam made shields of bronze in their place, and entrusted them to the care of the commanders of the guard who guarded the doorway of the king’s house.
