I have seen that there is nothing better than for a person to enjoy his activities because that is his reward. For who can enable him to see what will happen after he dies?

惟我竊思、人既勤勞以得之、莫若安樂以享之、厥後之事、難以逆睹。

故我思、人莫若樂享所經營者、以為可得之分惟此、身後之事、孰能使之逆睹哉、

So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?

So a person should enjoy their work. That’s what God made them for. I saw that there’s nothing better for them to do than that. After all, who can show them what will happen after they are gone?

So I saw that there is nothing better than that a man should rejoice in his work, for that is his lot. Who can bring him to see what will be after him?

So I saw that there is nothing better for people than to be happy in their work. That is our lot in life. And no one can bring us back to see what happens after we die.

I have seen that nothing is better than when a person is happy in his activities, for that is his lot. For who will bring him to see what will occur after him?

So I perceived that nothing is better than that a man should rejoice in his own works, for that is his heritage. For who can bring him to see what will happen after him?

Wherefore I saw that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him back to see what shall be after him?

There is nothing better for a person than to eat, drink, and enjoy his work. I have seen that even this is from God’s hand,

He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also put eternity in their hearts, but no one can discover the work God has done from beginning to end.I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and enjoy the good life.

Yet no one knows what will happen because who can tell him what will happen?

yet the fool multiplies words. No one knows what will happen, and who can tell anyone what will happen after him?

For who knows what is good for anyone in life, in the few days of his futile life that he spends like a shadow? Who can tell anyone what will happen after him under the sun?

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.

Rejoice, young person, while you are young, and let your heart be glad in the days of your youth. And walk in the ways of your heart and in the desire of your eyes; but know that for all of these things God will bring you to judgment.

Here is what I have seen to be good: It is appropriate to eat, drink, and experience good in all the labor one does under the sun during the few days of his life God has given him, because that is his reward.Furthermore, everyone to whom God has given riches and wealth, he has also allowed him to enjoy them, take his reward, and rejoice in his labor. This is a gift of God,for he does not often consider the days of his life because God keeps him occupied with the joy of his heart.

I have now brought the first of the land’s produce that you, LORD, have given me. You will then place the container before the LORD your God and bow down to him.You, the Levites, and the resident aliens among you will rejoice in all the good things the LORD your God has given you and your household.

If his sons receive honor, he does not know it; if they become insignificant, he is unaware of it.

Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

For certainly no one knows his time: like fish caught in a cruel net or like birds caught in a trap, so people are trapped in an evil time as it suddenly falls on them.

Go, eat your bread with pleasure, and drink your wine with a cheerful heart, for God has already accepted your works.Let your clothes be white all the time, and never let oil be lacking on your head.Enjoy life with the wife you love all the days of your fleeting life, which has been given to you under the sun, all your fleeting days. For that is your portion in life and in your struggle under the sun.

All that my eyes desired, I did not deny them. I did not refuse myself any pleasure, for I took pleasure in all my struggles. This was my reward for all my struggles.When I considered all that I had accomplished and what I had labored to achieve, I found everything to be futile and a pursuit of the wind. There was nothing to be gained under the sun.

You will eat there in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice with your household in everything you do, because the LORD your God has blessed you.

But as for you, go on your way to the end; you will rest, and then you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance at the end of the days.”

You are to eat them in the presence of the LORD your God at the place the LORD your God chooses— you, your son and daughter, your male and female slave, and the Levite who is within your city gates. Rejoice before the LORD your God in everything you do,

Do not lack diligence in zeal; be fervent in the Spirit; serve the Lord.Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer.

So I commended enjoyment because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat, drink, and enjoy himself, for this will accompany him in his labor during the days of his life that God gives him under the sun.

He said,“ Go on your way, Daniel, for the words are secret and sealed until the time of the end.Many will be purified, cleansed, and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.

Because you didn’t serve the LORD your God with joy and a cheerful heart, even though you had an abundance of everything,
