I have seen the burden God has placed on us all.

我见神叫世人劳苦，使他们在其中受经练。

我观看上帝给世人的担子，使他们在其中劳苦：

我观看神给世人的担子，使他们在其中劳苦：

我察觉上帝给世人重担，使他们忙碌不休。

我看神给予世人的担子，是要他们为此烦恼。

我看到神加给世人担子，让他们在其中操劳。

我見神叫世人勞苦，使他們在其中受經練。

我觀看上帝給世人的擔子，使他們在其中勞苦：

我觀看神給世人的擔子，使他們在其中勞苦：

我察覺上帝給世人重擔，使他們忙碌不休。

我看神給予世人的擔子，是要他們為此煩惱。

我看上帝將勞苦的事給人類，使他們在其中去勞碌。

我看到神加給世人擔子，讓他們在其中操勞。

我見上帝畀人苦任、以之為務、

上帝使人勤勞、我見之矣。

我見人經營勞碌、知皆為天主所定、

I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race.

I’ve seen the heavy load God has put on human beings.

I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with.

I have seen the task that God has given the children of Adam to keep them occupied.

I have seen the task which God has given the sons of mankind with which to occupy themselves.

I have seen the God-given task with which the sons of men are to be occupied.

I have seen the travail which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised therewith.

I have seen the task that God has given people to keep them occupied.

I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

I have observed the burden that God has given to people to keep them occupied.

I have seen the burden which God has given to the sons of men to be afflicted with.

I devoted myself to search for understanding and to explore by wisdom everything being done under heaven. I soon discovered that God has dealt a tragic existence to the human race.I observed everything going on under the sun, and really, it is all meaningless— like chasing the wind.

By the sweat of your brow will you have food to eat until you return to the ground from which you were made. For you were made from dust, and to dust you will return.”

God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy to those who please him. But if a sinner becomes wealthy, God takes the wealth away and gives it to those who please him. This, too, is meaningless— like chasing the wind.

We never accepted food from anyone without paying for it. We worked hard day and night so we would not be a burden to any of you.

Don’t you remember, dear brothers and sisters, how hard we worked among you? Night and day we toiled to earn a living so that we would not be a burden to any of you as we preached God’s Good News to you.
