I amassed silver and gold for myself, and the treasure of kings and provinces. I acquired male and female singers, and a harem as well— the delights of a man’s heart.

I stored up silver and gold for myself. I gathered up the treasures of kings and their kingdoms. I got some male and female singers. I also got many women for myself. Women delight the hearts of men.

I also gathered for myself silver and gold and the treasure of kings and provinces. I got singers, both men and women, and many concubines, the delight of the sons of man.

I collected great sums of silver and gold, the treasure of many kings and provinces. I hired wonderful singers, both men and women, and had many beautiful concubines. I had everything a man could desire!

于是，示巴女王将一百二十他连得金子和宝石，与极多的香料，送给所罗门王。她送给王的香料，以后奉来的不再有这样多。

仆人现在八十岁了，还能尝出饮食的滋味、辨别美恶吗？还能听男女歌唱的声音吗？仆人何必累赘我主我王呢？

他们到了俄斐，从那里得了四百二十他连得金子，运到所罗门王那里。

所罗门每年所得的金子共有六百六十六他连得。

所罗门王用锤出来的金子打成挡牌二百面，每面用金子六百舍客勒；又用锤出来的金子打成盾牌三百面，每面用金子三百舍客勒，都放在黎巴嫩林宫里。王用象牙制造一个大宝座，用精金包裹。宝座有六层台阶，又有金脚凳，与宝座相连。宝座两旁有扶手，靠近扶手有两个狮子站立。六层台阶上有十二个狮子站立，每层有两个：左边一个，右边一个；在列国中没有这样做的。所罗门王一切的饮器都是金的，黎巴嫩林宫里的一切器皿都是精金的。所罗门年间，银子算不了什么。因为王的船只与希兰的仆人一同往他施去；他施船只三年一次装载金、银、象牙、猿猴、孔雀回来。

弹琴鼓瑟唱消闲的歌曲，为自己制造乐器，如同大卫所造的；

希兰给所罗门一百二十他连得金子。

所罗门王一切的饮器都是金子的。黎巴嫩林宫里的一切器皿都是精金的。所罗门年间，银子算不了什么。

要用角声赞美他，鼓瑟弹琴赞美他！击鼓跳舞赞美他！用丝弦的乐器和箫的声音赞美他！用大响的钹赞美他！用高声的钹赞美他！

因此各方、各国、各族的人民一听见角、笛、琵琶、琴、瑟，和各样乐器的声音，就都俯伏敬拜尼布甲尼撒王所立的金像。

所罗门的儿子罗波安作犹大王。他登基的时候年四十一岁，在耶路撒冷，就是耶和华从以色列众支派中所选择立他名的城，作王十七年。罗波安的母亲名叫拿玛，是亚扪人。犹大人行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，犯罪触动他的愤恨，比他们列祖更甚。

他们打发小孩子出去，多如羊群；他们的儿女踊跃跳舞。他们随着琴鼓歌唱，又因箫声欢喜。

大卫和众首领分派亚萨、希幔，并耶杜顿的子孙弹琴、鼓瑟、敲钹、唱歌。他们供职的人数记在下面：

你们一听见角、笛、琵琶、琴、瑟、笙，和各样乐器的声音，就当俯伏敬拜尼布甲尼撒王所立的金像。

你们再听见角、笛、琵琶、琴、瑟、笙，和各样乐器的声音，若俯伏敬拜我所造的像，却还可以；若不敬拜，必立时扔在烈火的窑中，有何神能救你们脱离我手呢？”

罗波安王制造铜盾牌代替那金盾牌，交给守王宫门的护卫长看守。

此外，还有他们的仆婢七千三百三十七名，又有歌唱的男女二百名。

都归他们父亲指教，在耶和华的殿唱歌、敲钹、弹琴、鼓瑟，办神殿的事务。亚萨、耶杜顿、希幔都是王所命定的。

王用檀香木为耶和华殿和王宫做台，又为歌唱的人做琴瑟；犹大地从来没有见过这样的。
