I amassed silver and gold for myself, and the treasure of kings and provinces. I acquired male and female singers, and a harem as well— the delights of a man’s heart.

I stored up silver and gold for myself. I gathered up the treasures of kings and their kingdoms. I got some male and female singers. I also got many women for myself. Women delight the hearts of men.

I also gathered for myself silver and gold and the treasure of kings and provinces. I got singers, both men and women, and many concubines, the delight of the sons of man.

I collected great sums of silver and gold, the treasure of many kings and provinces. I hired wonderful singers, both men and women, and had many beautiful concubines. I had everything a man could desire!

示巴女王將四噸黃金、大量香料和寶石獻給所羅門王。此後，再無人像示巴女王那樣獻給所羅門王那麼多香料。

我已經八十歲了，美醜難分，食不知味，樂不辨音，何必為我主我王添麻煩呢？

從俄斐為所羅門王運回了十四噸黃金。

所羅門王用錘好的金子打造了二百面大盾牌，每面用七公斤金子；又用錘好的金子打造了三百面小盾牌，每面用三點五公斤金子，全部放在黎巴嫩林宮。王又造了一個象牙大寶座，外面用純金包裹。這寶座有六級臺階，又有金腳凳與寶座相連，寶座兩旁有扶手，扶手兩邊各站著一頭獅子，六級臺階上共站著十二頭獅子，每級臺階兩端各站一頭。這寶座舉世無雙。所羅門王所有的杯子都是金的，黎巴嫩林宮裡所有的器皿都是純金的，沒有一件是用銀子造的，因為所羅門年間銀子不算什麼。王有船隊與希蘭的僕人一起出海去他施，每三年就運回金銀、象牙、猿猴和孔雀。

你們伴著琴聲唱慵懶的歌，像大衛一樣為自己製造樂器。

希蘭供應了所羅門王約四噸金子。

所羅門王所有的杯子都是金的，黎巴嫩林宮裡的所有器皿都是純金的，沒有一件是用銀子造的，因為所羅門年間銀子不算什麼。

要吹響號角讚美祂，要彈琴鼓瑟讚美祂！要擊鼓跳舞讚美祂，要撥弦吹笛讚美祂！要擊響鐃鈸讚美祂，用響亮的鈸聲讚美祂！

於是，各族、各邦、各語種的人一聽見角、笛、弦琴、豎琴、瑟等各種樂器的聲音，就都叩拜尼布甲尼撒王所立的金像。

所羅門的兒子羅波安做猶大王。他四十一歲登基，在耶路撒冷，就是耶和華從以色列眾支派中選擇來立祂名的城執政十七年。羅波安的母親是亞捫人拿瑪。猶大人做耶和華視為惡的事，他們的罪行比他們祖先所做的更惹耶和華發怒。

他們讓孩童像羊群一樣走到戶外，盡情地歡跳。他們伴著鈴鼓和豎琴歌唱，在笛聲中歡喜不已。

大衛和眾首領派亞薩、希幔和耶杜頓的後代伴著琴、瑟和鈸宣講上帝的話。以下是擔當這職務的人：

『你們一聽見角、笛、弦琴、豎琴、瑟、笙等各種樂器奏響，就要叩拜尼布甲尼撒王所立的金像。

現在你們準備好，一聽見角、笛、弦琴、豎琴、瑟、笙等各種樂器的聲音，就要叩拜我造的像。不然，必立刻將你們扔進烈焰熊熊的火窯。那時什麼神明能從我手中救你們呢？」

羅波安王就造了銅盾牌代替那些金盾牌，交給看守宮門的護衛長看管。

此外還有他們的七千三百三十七名男女僕婢，二百名男女歌樂手，

這些人由他們的父親指揮，在耶和華的殿唱歌、敲鈸、彈琴、鼓瑟，事奉耶和華。亞薩、耶杜頓、希幔聽命於王。

所羅門王用這些檀香木建造耶和華的殿和王宮的階梯，又製作歌樂手的琴瑟。在猶大從來沒有見過這樣的物品。
