Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished his entire house.He built the House of the Forest of Lebanon. Solomon also made a house like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter whom he had taken in marriage.All these were made of costly stones, cut according to measure, sawed with saws, back and front, even from the foundation to the coping, and from the outside to the great court.The foundation was of costly stones, huge stones, stones of eight and ten cubits.And above were costly stones, cut according to measurement, and cedar.The great court had three courses of cut stone all around, and a course of cedar beams; so had the inner court of the house of the Lord and the vestibule of the house.

The throne had six steps, and the throne had a round top, and on each side of the seat were armrests and two lions standing beside the armrests,while twelve lions stood there, one on each end of a step on the six steps. The like of it was never made in any kingdom.

Then they said,“ Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.”

“ Let there be a covenant between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Behold, I am sending to you a present of silver and gold. Go, break your covenant with Baasha king of Israel, that he may withdraw from me.”

And he built towers in the wilderness and cut out many cisterns, for he had large herds, both in the Shephelah and in the plain, and he had farmers and vinedressers in the hills and in the fertile lands, for he loved the soil.

and the king answered and said,“ Is not this great Babylon, which I have built by my mighty power as a royal residence and for the glory of my majesty?”

Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and set up for himself the pillar that is in the King’s Valley, for he said,“ I have no son to keep my name in remembrance.” He called the pillar after his own name, and it is called Absalom’s monument to this day.

Solomon had a vineyard at Baal-hamon; he let out the vineyard to keepers; each one was to bring for its fruit a thousand pieces of silver.My vineyard, my very own, is before me; you, O Solomon, may have the thousand, and the keepers of the fruit two hundred.
