我心思維、酌酒以快我身、而心仍為智慧所導、又思持守愚拙、知天下人畢生所行、孰為美善、

我姑以酒為懽、若無智然、而仍不敢失度、庶知人生在世、最樂者何事。

I tried cheering myself with wine, and embracing folly— my mind still guiding me with wisdom. I wanted to see what was good for people to do under the heavens during the few days of their lives.

I tried cheering myself up by drinking wine. I even tried living in a foolish way. But wisdom was still guiding my mind. I wanted to see what was good for people to do on earth during their short lives.

I searched with my heart how to cheer my body with wine— my heart still guiding me with wisdom— and how to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was good for the children of man to do under heaven during the few days of their life.

After much thought, I decided to cheer myself with wine. And while still seeking wisdom, I clutched at foolishness. In this way, I tried to experience the only happiness most people find during their brief life in this world.

I explored with my mind the pull of wine on my body— my mind still guiding me with wisdom— and how to grasp folly, until I could see what is good for people to do under heaven during the few days of their lives.

I explored with my mind how to refresh my body with wine while my mind was guiding me wisely; and how to seize foolishness, until I could see what good there is for the sons of mankind to do under heaven for the few years of their lives.

酒能使人亵慢，浓酒使人喧嚷；凡因酒错误的，就无智慧。

我又专心察明智慧、狂妄，和愚昧，乃知这也是捕风。

这些事都已听见了，总意就是：敬畏神，谨守他的诫命，这是人所当尽的本分。

利慕伊勒啊，君王喝酒，君王喝酒不相宜；王子说浓酒在那里也不相宜；恐怕喝了就忘记律例，颠倒一切困苦人的是非。

不要醉酒，酒能使人放荡；乃要被圣灵充满。

人一生虚度的日子，就如影儿经过，谁知道什么与他有益呢？谁能告诉他身后在日光之下有什么事呢？

人莫强如吃喝，且在劳碌中享福，我看这也是出于神的手。

我们经过的日子都在你震怒之下；我们度尽的年岁好像一声叹息。我们一生的年日是七十岁，若是强壮可到八十岁；但其中所矜夸的不过是劳苦愁烦，转眼成空，我们便如飞而去。谁晓得你怒气的权势？谁按着你该受的敬畏晓得你的忿怒呢？求你指教我们怎样数算自己的日子，好叫我们得着智慧的心。

谁有祸患？谁有忧愁？谁有争斗？谁有哀叹？谁无故受伤？谁眼目红赤？就是那流连饮酒、常去寻找调和酒的人。酒发红，在杯中闪烁，你不可观看，虽然下咽舒畅，终久是咬你如蛇，刺你如毒蛇。

亚比该到拿八那里，见他在家里设摆筵席，如同王的筵席；拿八快乐大醉。亚比该无论大小事都没有告诉他，就等到次日早晨。

人若死了岂能再活呢？我只要在我一切争战的日子，等我被释放的时候来到。

你持守这个为美，那个也不要松手；因为敬畏神的人，必从这两样出来。

我知道世人，莫强如终身喜乐行善；并且人人吃喝，在他一切劳碌中享福，这也是神的恩赐。

我转念，一心要知道，要考察，要寻求智慧和万事的理由；又要知道邪恶为愚昧，愚昧为狂妄。

“一个人不能侍奉两个主；不是恶这个、爱那个，就是重这个、轻那个。你们不能又侍奉神，又侍奉玛门。”

基督和彼列有什么相和呢？信主的和不信主的有什么相干呢？神的殿和偶像有什么相同呢？因为我们是永生神的殿，就如神曾说：“我要在他们中间居住，在他们中间来往；我要作他们的神；他们要作我的子民。”又说：“你们务要从他们中间出来，与他们分别；不要沾不洁净的物，我就收纳你们。
