我心思維、酌酒以快我身、而心仍為智慧所導、又思持守愚拙、知天下人畢生所行、孰為美善、

我姑以酒為懽、若無智然、而仍不敢失度、庶知人生在世、最樂者何事。

我又自思、我且飲酒以樂我身、心仍導以智慧、又執守愚拙、直至我得見人生在世、人生在世原文作人在天下終身行何事為美、

I tried cheering myself with wine, and embracing folly— my mind still guiding me with wisdom. I wanted to see what was good for people to do under the heavens during the few days of their lives.

I tried cheering myself up by drinking wine. I even tried living in a foolish way. But wisdom was still guiding my mind. I wanted to see what was good for people to do on earth during their short lives.

I searched with my heart how to cheer my body with wine— my heart still guiding me with wisdom— and how to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was good for the children of man to do under heaven during the few days of their life.

After much thought, I decided to cheer myself with wine. And while still seeking wisdom, I clutched at foolishness. In this way, I tried to experience the only happiness most people find during their brief life in this world.

I explored with my mind the pull of wine on my body— my mind still guiding me with wisdom— and how to grasp folly, until I could see what is good for people to do under heaven during the few days of their lives.

I explored with my mind how to refresh my body with wine while my mind was guiding me wisely; and how to seize foolishness, until I could see what good there is for the sons of mankind to do under heaven for the few years of their lives.

I searched in my heart how to gratify my flesh with wine, while guiding my heart with wisdom, and how to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was good for the sons of men to do under heaven all the days of their lives.

酒能使人狂放，烈酒能使人喧哗；所有因醉酒而犯错的，都没有智慧。

我又专心究察智慧和知识，狂妄和愚昧，才知道这也是捕风。

你们一切都听见了，总而言之，应当敬畏神，谨守他的诫命，因为这是每一个人的本分。

利慕伊勒啊！君王不可喝酒；君王千万不可喝酒；掌权的不可贪饮烈酒。恐怕喝了酒，就忘记律例，把困苦人的一切案件都颠倒了。

不要醉酒，醉酒能使人放荡乱性，却要让圣灵充满。

在虚空、消逝如影的人生，短暂的日子里，有谁知道什么是对人有益处呢？谁能告诉人他死后在日光之下会发生什么事呢？

人最好是吃喝，在自己的劳碌中自得其乐；我看这也是出于神的手。

我们一生的日子都在你的震怒中消逝，我们度尽的年岁好像一声叹息。我们一生的年日是七十岁，如果强壮，可到八十岁，但其中可夸耀的，不过是劳苦愁烦；我们的年日转眼即逝，我们也如飞而去了。谁晓得你怒气的威力，谁按着你该受的敬畏晓得你的忿怒呢？求你教导我们怎样数算自己的日子，好使我们得着智慧的心。

谁有祸患？谁有愁苦？谁有纷争？谁有怨言？谁无故受伤？谁的眼睛赤红？就是那些沉湎于酒，常去品尝调和了的酒的人。你不要看酒怎样发红，在杯中怎样闪烁诱人，喝下去怎样舒畅，最后它却像咬你的蛇、像刺你的毒蛇。你的眼睛必看见怪异的事，你的心必说乖谬的话。你必好像躺在海中，又好像躺在桅杆顶上。你必说：“人打我，我不痛；人鞭打我，我不晓得；我什么时候清醒？我还要再去寻酒。”

亚比该到了拿八那里，他正在家中摆设筵席，好像帝王的筵席一样。拿八心里畅快，喝得烂醉如泥，所以无论大事小事亚比该都没有告诉他，直到第二天早晨。

人若死了，怎能再活呢？我要在我一切劳苦的日子等待，等到我得释放的时候来到。

持守这个是好的，那个也不要放松，因为敬畏神的人，都必避免这两个极端。

雅各回答法老：“我寄居在世的年日是一百三十岁。我一生的年日又少又苦，不及我祖先寄居在世的年日。”

我晓得人生最好是寻乐享福，人人有吃有喝，在自己的一切劳碌中自得其乐；这就是神的恩赐。

我转念，一心去了解、考察并寻觅智慧和事理，又要知道愚蒙是邪恶的，狂妄是愚昧的。

“一个人不能服事两个主人；他若不是恨这个爱那个，就是忠于这个轻视那个。你们不能服事神，又服事金钱﹙“金钱”亚兰文是“玛门”。﹚。

基督和彼列（“彼列”是撒但的别名）怎能和谐呢？信的和不信的有什么联系呢？神的殿和偶像怎能协调呢？我们就是永生神的殿，正如神说：“我要住在他们中间，在他们中间来往；我要作他们的神，他们要作我的子民。”所以，“主说：你们要从他们中间出来，和他们分开，不可触摸不洁净的东西，我就收纳你们。”
