若言人既勞碌、莫若以食以飲、安享其樂、我又見其權在乎天主、

A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God,

我就稱讚快樂，原來人在日光之下，最大的福氣莫過於吃喝快樂；他在日光之下，神賜他一生的日子，要從勞碌中享受所得。

至於那些今世富足的人，你要囑咐他們不要自高，也不要倚賴靠不住的錢財；要倚靠那厚賜萬物給我們享受的神。

我知道，人除了終身喜樂納福，沒有一件幸福的事。並且人人吃喝，在他的一切勞碌中享福，這也是神的賞賜。

看哪，我所見為善為美的，就是人在神賜他一生的日子吃喝，享受日光之下勞碌得來的好處，因為這是他應得的報償。而且，一個人蒙神賞賜財富與資產，又使他能享用，能獲取自己當有的報償，在他的勞碌中喜樂，這是神的賞賜。

你只管歡歡喜喜吃你的飯，心中快樂喝你的酒，因為神已經悅納你的作為。你的衣服要時時潔白，你頭上也不要缺少膏油。在你一生虛空的日子，就是神賜你在日光之下虛空的日子，當與你所愛的妻快活度日，因為那是你一生中在日光之下勞碌所得的報償。

必須在耶和華－你的神面前吃，在耶和華－你神所選擇的地方，你和兒女、僕婢，以及住在你城裏的利未人都可以吃，並要因你手所做的一切，在耶和華－你神面前歡樂。

從人的觀點看來，我當日在以弗所同野獸搏鬥，對我有甚麼益處呢？如果死人沒有復活，「讓我們吃吃喝喝吧！因為明天要死了。」

然後要對我自己說：你這個人哪，你有許多財物積存，可供多年享用，只管安安逸逸吃喝快樂吧！』神卻對他說：『無知的人哪！今夜就要你的性命，你所預備的要歸誰呢？』

你們和兒女、僕婢，以及住在你們城裏，沒有與你們一起分得產業的利未人，都要在耶和華－你們的神面前歡樂。

然而他未嘗不為自己留下證據來，就如常行善事，從天降雨，賞賜豐年，使你們飲食飽足，滿心喜樂。」

就是人蒙神賜他財富、資產和尊榮，以致他心裏所願的一樣都不缺，只是神使他不能享用，反被外人享用。這是虛空，也是禍患。

年輕人哪，你在年少時當快樂；在年輕時使你的心歡暢，做你心所願做的，看你眼所愛看的；卻要知道，為這一切，神必審問你。所以，當從心中除掉愁煩，從肉體除去痛苦；因為年少和年輕之時，全是虛空。

萬軍之耶和華說：「你們若不聽，若不放在心上，將榮耀歸給我的名，我就使詛咒臨到你們，使你們的福分變為詛咒；其實我已經詛咒了你們的福分，因你們不把誡命放在心上。

尼希米對他們說：「你們去吃肥美的，喝甘甜的，有不能預備的就分給他，因為今日是我們主的聖日。你們不要憂愁，因靠耶和華而得的喜樂是你們的力量。」
