All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless.

As long as they live, their work is nothing but pain and sorrow. Even at night their minds can’t rest. That doesn’t have any meaning either.

For all his days are full of sorrow, and his work is a vexation. Even in the night his heart does not rest. This also is vanity.

Their days of labor are filled with pain and grief; even at night their minds cannot rest. It is all meaningless.

“人为妇人所生，一生短暂，充满患难。

人生来必遇患难，正如火花必向上飞。

我以为床铺是我的安慰，卧榻可解除我的哀愁，你却用噩梦惊我，用异象吓我，

你早起晚睡，为生活操劳也是徒然，唯有耶和华所爱的人才能安眠。

你昼夜管教我，我的精力耗尽，如水在盛夏枯竭。（细拉）

王回宫后，整夜禁食，拒绝娱乐，无法入睡。

坚固各地门徒的信心，鼓励他们要持守信仰，并且说：“我们在进入上帝国的道路上必经历许多苦难。”

你使我们先前经历了多少苦难和不幸的岁月，求你也赐给我们多少欢乐的岁月。

那夜王睡不着觉，就吩咐人拿史书念给他听。

你的怒气使我们灭亡，你的愤怒使我们战抖。你知道我们的罪恶，对我们隐秘的罪了如指掌。我们活在你的烈怒之下，一生就像一声叹息飞逝而去。我们一生七十岁，强壮的可活八十岁，但人生最美好的时光也充满劳苦和愁烦，生命转瞬即逝，我们便如飞而去。

我在困境中寻求主。我整夜举手祷告，我的心无法得到安慰。我思想上帝，发出哀叹；我默想，心灵疲惫不堪。（细拉）你使我无法合眼，我心乱如麻，默然无语。

雅各回答说：“我在世上寄居一百三十年了，我的日子又苦又短，不像我祖先那样高寿。”

我因哀叹心力交瘁，夜夜哭泣，泪漂床榻，湿透被褥。我的眼睛因忧愁而模糊，因敌人的攻击而昏花。

劳力的人不管吃多吃少，总是睡得香甜；富人的万贯家财却害得他不能成眠。

因为智慧越高，愁烦越多；知识越多，痛苦越深。
