Therefore I went about to cause my heart to despair of all the labour which I took under the sun.

故此，我转想我在日光之下所劳碌的一切工作，心便绝望。

我转想我在日光之下所劳碌的一切工作，心就绝望。

因此，我对自己在日光之下一切的劳碌感到绝望。

于是我转念，对日光之下我所劳碌的一切，心感绝望；

于是我回顾我在日光之下劳苦所做的一切工，就心感绝望；

故此，我轉想我在日光之下所勞碌的一切工作，心便絕望。

我轉想我在日光之下所勞碌的一切工作，心就絕望。

我轉想我在日光之下所勞碌的一切工作，心就絕望。

因此，我對自己在日光之下一切的勞碌感到絕望。

於是我轉念，對日光之下我所勞碌的一切，心感絕望；

故此我轉想：為了我在日光之下辛辛苦苦勞碌得來的一切，我的心便絕望了。

於是我回顧我在日光之下勞苦所做的一切工，就心感絕望；

我遂轉念、於日下勞力之操作、使心失望、

可知經營百事、絕無餘望。

於是我念及我在日下勞碌經營、我則失望、

So my heart began to despair over all my toilsome labor under the sun.

So I began to lose hope because of all my hard work on this earth.

So I turned about and gave my heart up to despair over all the toil of my labors under the sun,

So I gave up in despair, questioning the value of all my hard work in this world.

So I began to give myself over to despair concerning all my work that I had labored at under the sun.

Therefore I completely despaired over all the fruit of my labor for which I had labored under the sun.

Therefore I turned my heart and despaired of all the labor in which I had toiled under the sun.

Therefore I turned about to cause my heart to despair concerning all the labor wherein I had labored under the sun.

So I began to give myself over to despair concerning all my work that I had labored at under the sun.

So I began to despair about all the fruit of my labor for which I worked so hard on earth.

Therefore I began to cause my heart to despair concerning all the labor in which I had labored under the sun.

Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up[ riches], and knoweth not who shall gather them.And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope[ is] in thee.

My days are past, my purposes are broken off,[ even] the thoughts of my heart.They change the night into day: the light[ is] short because of darkness.If I wait, the grave[ is] mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.I have said to corruption, Thou[ art] my father: to the worm,[ Thou art] my mother, and my sister.And where[ is] now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?

And God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin. If I be bereaved[ of my children], I am bereaved.

For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver[ us];

That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
