I saw that wisdom is better than folly, just as light is better than darkness.

Then I saw that wisdom surpasses foolishness as light surpasses darkness.

Then I saw that wisdom excels folly As light excels darkness.

Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness.

Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness.

I realized that wisdom is preferable to folly, just as light is preferable to darkness:

Wisdom is as good as an inheritance and an advantage to those who see the sun,because wisdom is protection as money is protection, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of its owner.

But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light within you is darkness— how deep is that darkness!

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light—

Your eye is the lamp of the body. When your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light. But when it is bad, your body is also full of darkness.Take care then, that the light in you is not darkness.

Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.

And I said,“ Wisdom is better than strength, but the wisdom of the poor man is despised, and his words are not heeded.”

So you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.“ For indeed, the day is coming, burning like a furnace, when all the arrogant and everyone who commits wickedness will become stubble. The coming day will consume them,” says the Lord of Hosts,“ not leaving them root or branches.But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings, and you will go out and playfully jump like calves from the stall.

Get wisdom— how much better it is than gold! And get understanding— it is preferable to silver.

Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner can destroy much good.

The revelation of Your words brings light and gives understanding to the inexperienced.

Light is sweet, and it is pleasing for the eyes to see the sun.

Get wisdom, get understanding; don’t forget or turn away from the words of my mouth.Don’t abandon wisdom, and she will watch over you; love her, and she will guard you.Wisdom is supreme— so get wisdom. And whatever else you get, get understanding.

Wisdom makes the wise man stronger than ten rulers of a city.
