I said to myself,“ Come now, I will test you with pleasure. So enjoy yourself.” And behold, it too was futility.

I said in my heart,“ Come now, I will test you with mirth; therefore enjoy pleasure”; but surely, this also was vanity.

I said in my heart, Come now, I will prove thee with mirth; therefore enjoy pleasure: and, behold, this also was vanity.

I said to myself,“ Go ahead, I will test you with pleasure; enjoy what is good.” But it turned out to be futile.

So I recommend the enjoyment of life, for there is nothing better on earth for a person to do except to eat, drink, and enjoy life. So joy will accompany him in his toil during the days of his life which God gives him on earth.

I thought to myself,“ God will judge both the righteous and the wicked; for there is an appropriate time for every activity, and there is a time of judgment for every deed.I also thought to myself,“ It is for the sake of people, so God can clearly show them that they are like animals.

The king of Syria said,“ Go! I will send a letter to the king of Israel.” So Naaman went, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten suits of clothes.
