那時，所羅門說：「耶和華曾說要住在幽暗之處。我的確為你建了一座雄偉的殿宇，作為你永遠居住的地方。」王轉過臉來為以色列全會眾祝福，以色列全會眾都站立。所羅門說：「耶和華－以色列的上帝是應當稱頌的！因他親口向我父大衛應許的，也親手成就了；他曾說：『自從那日我領我百姓以色列出埃及以來，我未曾在以色列各支派中選擇一城，在那裏為我的名建造殿宇，但我揀選大衛治理我的百姓以色列。』我父大衛的心意是要為耶和華－以色列上帝的名建殿。耶和華卻對我父大衛說：『你有心為我的名建殿，這心意是好的；但你不可建殿，惟有你親生的兒子才可為我的名建殿。』現在耶和華實現了他所應許的話，使我接續我父大衛坐以色列的王位，正如耶和華所說的，我也為耶和華－以色列上帝的名建造了這殿。我也在那裏為約櫃預備一處。約櫃那裏有耶和華的約，就是他領我們列祖出埃及地的時候，與他們所立的約。」

所羅門的箴言：智慧之子使父親喜樂；愚昧之子使母親擔憂。
