Furthermore, people are afraid of a high place and of terrors on the road; the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper drags itself along, and the caper berry is ineffective. For man goes to his eternal home while the mourners move around in the street.

甚至人害怕高處，害怕道路上的危險；杏樹開花，蚱蜢蹣跚，人的性慾衰退；因為人歸向自己永遠的家，哀哭的人在街道上繞行。

登高則恐懼、行路則悚惶、杏樹放葩、蝗蟲體重、酸豆失其補力、人歸永居之所、弔者往來於衢、

不敢登高、行於途中亦多畏葸、以杏核為可厭、以蟿蟲為重物、生平嗜好、百無一存、人歸窀穸、哀者行於衢。

畏登高處、行於途亦多驚懼、以杏核為可厭、以蝗蟲為重物、口腹之欲悉廢、將歸永居之所、不久哀者隨行於衢、

when people are afraid of heights and of dangers in the streets; when the almond tree blossoms and the grasshopper drags itself along and desire no longer is stirred. Then people go to their eternal home and mourners go about the streets.

Remember your Creator before you become afraid of places that are too high. You will also be terrified because of danger in the streets. Remember your Creator before the almond trees have buds on them. That’s when grasshoppers will drag themselves along. Old people will lose their desire. That’s when people will go to their dark homes in the grave. And those who mourn for the dead will walk around in the streets.

they are afraid also of what is high, and terrors are in the way; the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper drags itself along, and desire fails, because man is going to his eternal home, and the mourners go about the streets—

Remember him before you become fearful of falling and worry about danger in the streets; before your hair turns white like an almond tree in bloom, and you drag along without energy like a dying grasshopper, and the caperberry no longer inspires sexual desire. Remember him before you near the grave, your everlasting home, when the mourners will weep at your funeral.

If I hope for Sheol as my home, I make my bed in the darkness;

For I know that You will bring me to death, And to the house of meeting for all living.

This is what the Lord of armies says:“ Consider and call for the mourning women, that they may come; And send for the skillful women, that they may come!Have them hurry and take up a wailing for us, So that our eyes may shed tears, And our eyelids flow with water.For a voice of wailing is heard from Zion:‘ How devastated we are! We are put to great shame, For we have abandoned the land Because they have torn down our homes.’ ”Now hear the word of the Lord, you women, And let your ears receive the word of His mouth; Teach your daughters wailing, And have every woman teach her neighbor a song of mourning.

A gray head is a crown of glory; It is found in the way of righteousness.

Both the gray haired and the aged are among us, Older than your father.

Now forty days were required for it, for such is the period required for embalming. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity, planning, knowledge, or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,“ What do you see, Jeremiah?” And I said,“ I see a branch of an almond tree.”

For he sees that even wise people die; The foolish and the stupid alike perish And leave their wealth to others.Their inner thought is that their houses are forever And their dwelling places to all generations; They have named their lands after their own names.But man in his splendor will not endure; He is like the animals that perish.This is the way of those who are foolish, And of those after them who approve their words. SelahLike sheep they sink down to Sheol; Death will be their shepherd; And the upright will rule over them in the morning, And their form shall be for Sheol to consume So that they have no lofty home.

If you also take this one from me, and harm happens to him, you will bring my gray hair down to Sheol in sorrow.’

‘ You shall stand up in the presence of the grayheaded and honor elders, and you shall fear your God; I am the Lord.

And even when I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.

Even to your old age I will be the same, And even to your graying years I will carry you! I have done it, and I will bear you; And I will carry you and I will save you.

They* came to the house of the synagogue official, and He* saw a commotion, and people loudly weeping and wailing.And after entering, He* said to them,“ Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child has not died, but is asleep.”

And just as it is destined for people to die once, and after this comes judgment,

But Jacob said,“ My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he alone is left. If harm should happen to him on the journey you are taking, then you will bring my gray hair down to Sheol in sorrow.”

The glory of young men is their strength, And the honor of old men is their gray hair.

when he sees that the boy is not with us, he will die. So your servants will bring the gray hair of your servant, our father, down to Sheol in sorrow.
