when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men stoop, when the grinders cease because they are few, and those looking through the windows grow dim;

Remember your Creator before those who guard the house tremble with old age. That’s when strong men will be bent over. The women who grind grain will stop because there are so few of them left. Those who look through the windows won’t be able to see very well.

我們的日子都在你的震怒中過去；我們度盡了歲月、像歎了一口氣。這其中、我們的年日是七十歲；若是強壯，可到八十歲；但其中所矜誇的、不過是勞苦愁煩迅速地過去，我們也飛沒了。

他使我的力量中途衰弱，他把我的年日截短了，

以撒老邁，眼睛昏花，不能看見，就叫了他的大兒子以掃來，對他說：『孩子。』以掃對以撒說：『看哪，我在這裏。』

非利士人跟以色列人又有戰事；大衛和僕人一同下去，跟非利士人交戰；大衛覺得疲乏無力，就去住在歌伯。那裏有一個人是高身漢的孩子；他的槍重有三百舍客勒，是銅的；他又束佩着新刀，說是要擊殺大衛的。但是洗魯雅的兒子亞比篩幫助了大衛，擊打那非利士人，將他殺死。當日跟隨大衛的人向大衛起誓說：『以後你不要再和我們一同出戰了，恐怕你使以色列的燈熄滅了。』
