Remember your Creator. Remember him while you are still young. Think about him before your times of trouble come. The years will come when you will say,“ I don’t find any pleasure in them.”

Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say,“ Life is not pleasant anymore.”

It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

Yes, if a man lives many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many. All that comes is vanity.

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Jesus summoned them, saying,“ Allow the little children to come to me, and don’t hinder them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.

God, you have taught me from my youth. Until now, I have declared your wondrous works.Yes, even when I am old and gray- haired, God, don’t forsake me, until I have declared your strength to the next generation, your might to everyone who is to come.

Come, you children, listen to me. I will teach you the fear of Yahweh.

Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.

From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus.

I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me.

But you brought me out of the womb. You made me trust while at my mother’s breasts.I was thrown on you from my mother’s womb. You are my God since my mother bore me.

He sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with a handsome face and good appearance. Yahweh said,“ Arise! Anoint him, for this is he.”Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the middle of his brothers. Then Yahweh’s Spirit came mightily on David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.

But Yahweh said to Samuel,“ Don’t look on his face, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for I don’t see as man sees. For man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart.”

The days of our years are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty years; yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, for it passes quickly, and we fly away.

I am eighty years old, today. Can I discern between good and bad? Can your servant taste what I eat or what I drink? Can I hear the voice of singing men and singing women any more? Why then should your servant be a burden to my lord the king?

Yahweh was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man. He was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

Samuel grew, and Yahweh was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground.All Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of Yahweh.Yahweh appeared again in Shiloh; for Yahweh revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by Yahweh’s word.

But he refused, and said to his master’s wife,“ Behold, my master doesn’t know what is with me in the house, and he has put all that he has into my hand.No one is greater in this house than I am, and he has not kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”

The child Samuel grew on, and increased in favor both with Yahweh and also with men.

But Samuel ministered before Yahweh, being a child, clothed with a linen ephod.

The keeper of the prison didn’t look after anything that was under his hand, because Yahweh was with him; and that which he did, Yahweh made it prosper.

The child was growing, and was becoming strong in spirit, being filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.His parents went every year to Jerusalem at the feast of the Passover.When he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast,and when they had fulfilled the days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. Joseph and his mother didn’t know it,but supposing him to be in the company, they went a day’s journey, and they looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances.When they didn’t find him, they returned to Jerusalem, looking for him.After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the middle of the teachers, both listening to them, and asking them questions.All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.When they saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him,“ Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your father and I were anxiously looking for you.”He said to them,“ Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”They didn’t understand the saying which he spoke to them.And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth. He was subject to them, and his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

Therefore I have also given him to Yahweh. As long as he lives he is given to Yahweh.” He worshiped Yahweh there.

He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, and walked in the ways of David his father, and didn’t turn away to the right hand or to the left.For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, the Asherah poles, the engraved images, and the molten images.

Now as for these four youths, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

Of what use is the strength of their hands to me, men in whom ripe age has perished?

You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Your servant struck both the lion and the bear. All Israel will mourn for him and bury him; for he only of Jeroboam will come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward Yahweh, the God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king’s dainties, nor with the wine which he drank. Therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.Now God made Daniel find kindness and compassion in the sight of the prince of the eunuchs.

Solomon said,“ You have shown to your servant David my father great loving kindness, because he walked before you in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with you. You have kept for him this great loving kindness, that you have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is today.Now, Yahweh my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father. I am just a little child. I don’t know how to go out or come in.Your servant is among your people which you have chosen, a great people, that can’t be numbered or counted for multitude.Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this great people of yours?”This request pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.God said to him,“ Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself long life, nor have you asked for riches for yourself, nor have you asked for the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice;behold, I have done according to your word. Behold, I have given you a wise and understanding heart; so that there has been no one like you before you, and after you none will arise like you.

For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and he will drink no wine nor strong drink. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

Yes, in the way of your judgments, Yahweh, we have waited for you. Your name and your renown are the desire of our soul.

It will happen, as soon as I leave you, that Yahweh’s Spirit will carry you I don’t know where; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he can’t find you, he will kill me. But I, your servant, have feared Yahweh from my youth.

Strangers have devoured his strength, and he doesn’t realize it. Indeed, gray hairs are here and there on him, and he doesn’t realize it.
