Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.

In the morning plant your seeds. In the evening keep your hands busy. You don’t know what will succeed. It may be one or the other. Or both might do equally well.

In the morning sow your seed, and at evening withhold not your hand, for you do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both alike will be good.

雨雪從天而降，並不返回，卻要滋潤土地，使地面發芽結實，使撒種的有種，使要吃的有糧。

你們撒的種多，收的卻少；你們吃，卻不得飽；喝，卻不得足；穿衣服，卻不得暖；領工錢的，領了工錢卻裝入有破洞的袋中。「萬軍之耶和華如此說，你們要省察自己的行為。你們要上山取木料，建造這殿，我就因此喜樂，且得榮耀。這是耶和華說的。你們盼望多得，看哪，所得的卻少；你們收到家中，我就吹去。這是為甚麼呢？因為我的殿荒涼，你們各人卻只為自己的房屋奔走。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。所以，因你們的緣故，天不降甘露，地也不出土產。我命令乾旱臨到土地、山岡、五穀、新酒、新油和地上的出產，也臨到人和牲畜，以及一切人手勞碌得來的。」

你們要為自己栽種公義，收割慈愛。你們要開墾荒地，現今正是尋求耶和華的時候；等他臨到，公義必如雨降給你們。

還有一點：「少種的少收；多種的多收。」

但如今，我對這餘民必不像先前的日子。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。因為他們要平安撒種，葡萄樹要結果子，土地必有出產，天也必降甘露。我要使這餘民享受這一切。

收割的人已經得工錢，為永生儲存五穀，使撒種的和收割的一同快樂。『那人撒種，這人收割』，這話可見是真的。我差你們去收你們所沒有辛勞的；別人辛勞，你們享受他們辛勞的成果。」

我以焚風、霉爛、冰雹攻擊你們，和你們手上的各樣工作，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。你們心裏要想一想，從今日起，就是從這九月二十四日起，從立耶和華殿根基的日子起，你們心裏想一想：倉裏還有穀種嗎？葡萄樹、無花果樹、石榴樹、橄欖樹雖沒有結果子，從今日起，我必賜福。」

亞波羅算甚麼？保羅算甚麼？我們都是神的執事，藉着我們，你們信了；這不過是照着主給各人的恩賜去做罷了。我栽種了，亞波羅澆灌了，惟有神使它生長。可見，栽種的算不了甚麼，澆灌的也算不了甚麼；惟有神能使它生長。

凡你手所當做的事，要盡力去做；因為在你所必須去的陰間沒有工作，沒有謀算，沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

耶穌又說：「神的國如同人把種子撒在地上，黑夜睡覺，白日起來，這種子就發芽生長，那人卻不知道如何會這樣。土地自然而然地出產五穀，先發苗，後長穗，然後穗上結成飽滿的穀子。五穀熟了，就用鐮刀去割，因為收成的時候到了。」

務要傳道；無論得時不得時總要專心，並以百般的忍耐和各樣的教導責備人，警戒人，勸勉人。

但內中有塞浦路斯和古利奈人，他們到了安提阿也向希臘人傳講主耶穌的福音。主的手與他們同在，信而歸主的人數很多。

我將這一切事放在心上，詳細研究這些，就知道義人和智慧人，並他們的作為都在神手中；或是愛，或是恨，都在他們面前，但人不能知道。
