你們種多收少，吃不飽，喝不足，穿不暖，掙來的工錢卻放在漏口袋中。」萬軍之耶和華說：「你們要認真反省自己的行為。你們要上山伐木，重建這殿，好讓我歡喜並得到尊崇。這是耶和華說的。你們盼望豐收，結果收的很少；你們把收成帶回家，我卻把它們吹走。這是什麼緣故？萬軍之耶和華告訴你們，『因為你們都忙於建自家的房子，任由我的殿一片廢墟。所以，天不降雨露，地無出產。我讓旱災臨到大地、群山、五穀、葡萄、橄欖等地裡的出產以及人畜，使你們一切的勞碌付諸東流。』」

你們要為自己種植公義，就能收穫慈愛。現在是尋求耶和華的時候，你們要犁開剛硬的心田，等祂來使公義如雨澆灌你們。

要記住：「少種的少收，多種的多收。」

如今我不會像從前那樣對待這些餘民了。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。因為他們必平安地撒種，葡萄樹必結果子，土地必出產五穀，天必降下甘霖，我要把這些福氣賜給這些餘民。

收割的人不但可以得到報酬，而且可以為永生收穫果實，叫撒種的和收割的一同快樂。俗語說得好，『那人撒種，這人收割。』我派你們去收割那些你們沒有勞作的莊稼，別人勞苦，你們享受他們勞苦的成果。」

我曾用蟲災、黴災和冰雹毀滅你們的作物，你們仍沒有歸向我。這是耶和華說的。九月二十四日是我的殿奠定根基的日子。你們要思想這個日子，要認真思想。雖然糧倉裡沒有種子，葡萄樹、無花果樹、石榴樹和橄欖樹沒結果子，但從今以後，我要賜福給你們。』」

亞波羅算什麼？保羅算什麼？我們不過是上帝的僕人，各人照著主所賜的才幹引導你們信靠上帝。我栽種，亞波羅灌溉，但使之生長的是上帝。所以栽種的和灌溉的都算不得什麼，一切都在於使之生長的上帝。

凡你的手能做的，都要盡力去做，因為在你要去的陰間沒有工作，沒有計劃，也沒有知識和智慧。

祂又說：「上帝的國就像一個人在地上撒種。他天天日出而作，日落而息。種子就在他不知不覺中漸漸發芽長大。大地會使種子生長，先發苗後吐穗，最終結出飽滿的籽粒。莊稼成熟後，他就拿起鐮刀來收割，因為收成的時候到了。」

無論時機好壞，都要堅持傳道，以百般的忍耐和教導督責人、警戒人、勉勵人。

不過，有些塞浦路斯和古利奈的信徒到了安提阿之後，也向希臘人傳講主耶穌的福音。上帝的能力伴隨著他們，有許多人信了主。

我仔細思想、探究這些事，就知道義人、智者及他們的行事為人都由上帝掌管，人無法知道前面等待自己的是愛還是恨。
